James Dalbec

Graduated Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis (1959). Was placed initially at KXLJ Radio (Helena). From there it was KFBB-TV (Great Falls) where I did booth announcing and then transformed into "Reddy Kilowatt" the local weatherman for the Montana Power Company. I went home to KSEN (Shelby), followed by KLCB (Libby), KANA (Anaconda), then recieved my draft notice, serving in the Army from 1961-1963 with the 12th Evacuation Hospital. Landed back at KSEN, then to Great Falls (KARR-KOPR-FM). From 1971-1985 I was hired by KFBB-TV for mainly sales, however I did "voice overs" and "on camera" commercials.
From 1985 to the present...I'm between opportunities.

Was offered a baseball scholarship to the University of Montana but declined, as I was searching for a school where I could get into graphic arts. Mr. Driscoll advised me there was nothing "out there" ; so it was off to radio school in Minneapolis. I discovered soon after, there existed a "Currier and Ives" Graphic Art School, not too far away. The added duties of being a guidence counseler at the time must have been a part time job at Shelby High School.
