You got it Mark-I will give you a call. I played Mr. Mom today so it was fun to hang in here with you guys.

I had completely forgotten about the McClellan rivalry until I read Mark's post. I remember going to the games at their gym - I think it was 85 or 86.....it was great fun!!!

Vic - somehow I didn't know about your obsession with upperclassmen (maybe it was because I was right there with ya!!)....

It doesn't surprise me that Sykes was involved in said chaining of the doors.... :) He was always one for "good ideas." :)

its funny how the Girls went for upper classmen and the guys went for the the younger classwomen! :)

Pardon my drive-by... haven't had much time to dialogue w/ you guys. May I attempt to console you guys who were lamenting a few pages back about not having a jukebox? Sure, it was cool & convenient, but you gotta admit, Boston... Journey...Styxx... just don't sound right unless they're blasting through a pair of Pioneer 6x9's in the back window of a Monte Carlo. The jukebox can be over-rated, unless you're listening to "Happy Days" or somethin'.

One more thing...

Mark Avant - I think you should put a pencil to your memories & history of the Avant's Mom & Pop stores thru the years... especially since it included the landmark Midget Market.

Anyone else think he should?

Justin James (1986)

Aaron, you are right about the jukebox it's just the stepchild thing we are all haters! and yes i have several fond memories of the old midget market!

I think we ALL must have fond memories of the Midget Market. It was the best place to hang out before and after school. You'd pile as many people as you could in your car - sometimes so full that you couldn't move - and go to the Midge.... Of course, I would KILL my kids for doing the same....

What was cool about the CRX (the only thing, I wanted a VW Scirocco!!) was that it had a good stereo and you could pop the hatch and everyone nearby could listen to Magic 105. I remember Sister Christian by Night Ranger being very popular.

I will think about the merchant history (69-88) of my life and how it applied to shs. My memory works better when I've got someone to bounce stuff off of. And what format would be best. Maybe a blog. Although (to use one of Aaron's words)it probably wouldn't be in temporal order that way. Any suggestions?

Blogs are a good way to get things started - lots of people have them - I just started mine this week (have only written once, but hey, it's a start)...

I loved Night Ranger!!

Nothing like Corn Nuts and Mountain Dew for breakfast from the Midget Market! Ugh!

Sister Christian sounds as good today as it did then! great song, As for Blogs i guess there a good way for people to express themselves, but it's not for me other than reading other people's!

I would think, being a runner, you would still carbo load with Mt Dew and corn nuts. Although your teeth had better be as good as they were then. Corn nuts have a pea gravel consistency.

Chuck, thats a scary thought i can not imagine my kids eating corn nuts and drinking MD.

Mark, when I started running I switched from Mountain Dew to Sprite. What food group do Corn Nuts classify as? Vegetable?

Speaking of Magic 105....I tried to find it when I was home this last time and couldn't so I did a little digging when I got back home (Ruston)...mom and dad's dialup drives me nuts! For those of you out of town...
