I believe Craig O'neal was on 103.7 KKYK. And yeah, no Magic 105 anymore. Outlaw Tommy Smith ruled!!!

KKYK...of course. Thanks!

Loved KKYK! I thought Craig was with B98.5...I could be wrong though.

GO GATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Just had to rib Justin a little bit!) : )

He may have switched later. When I was in school the Uglies were at 98.5. Craig called Mr Brown one time and acted like and oil shiek and tried to buy the school. Of course someone had put a realty sign in front of the school. Mr Brown knew it was him and kept calling him Craig.

With all the talk about Craig O'Neal, I think it is interesting to note that he is now a news anchor on the channel 11 news. He started in sports and is now a top anchor.

Hey Mark, That is because Mr. Brown had a crystal ball right? Or the CIA connection? I only remember really great radio from those Little Rock stations. I remember Craig O'Neil in the mornings getting ready for school. He used to have this fake guy named "Sherman" that he would converse with. Of course, He was Sherman....but it was fun to listen to. Justin I have been through that tunnel alot and I have been to some ship and sub in that harbor in Mobile. I was a little guy and can't remember much, but I am sure that the Navy had some cool attractions in that Bay. I think I held my breath through at least a part of the tunnel. And one more thing Justin, you have awakened some Southern sea-food infatuation with your lunch choice on Friday. All I have been able to think about this weekend is oysters, crawfish and shrimp! Living in Colorado, it is hard to get decent seafood! Enjoy those loaves! Of course, we have a decent buffet of Rocky Mountain Oysters but they are a little sketchy.

LOL Craig Oneil doing the news, what has the news come too? and by the way Vicki the Christmas decorations are as cool as all get out! GOOOD JOB!

Justin, sorry about the game...I wrote the above before the outcome! It was a fun game to watch.

I've been on that sub and ship! FASCINATING. The tunnel freaks me out a little, but not as bad as the long spans of bridges.

We vacationed at Perdido Bay Resort (or is it Perdido Beach?) a couple of years ago. I highly recommend it!

Its all good!!!! hey they thought we were the 3rd best team in the west with a 8-4 record at best so it has been a banner year! Well its on Perdido Bay but it runs into Orange Beach it is a fun place, any were along the coast from Gulf Shores to Panama city is nice! Im partial to this area though. :) the bridge is about 8 miles long or so and when there is a wreck you are there for hours and hours but its not that often! When you guys were here did you go to Naval museum in Pensacola? if not and you come again you have to go between the Imax and the museum i can spend a whole day walking around and reading, its awesome! And if you can get away for a night with out the curtain climbers the FloraBama is alot of fun!! :)

Sherman wasn't real????? I had no idea!!! I am crushed!!! I remember the Uglies - they had a contest to win a school dance and we filled out forms in every class for weeks, making copies, handing them out to friends.... and we WON!!!

Cool. When I was a kid I didn't think much about things like the USS Alabama. Now I would give anything to visit some of those places. Funny how when you get older history becomes more important and it becomes fascinating. I visited Hawaii a couple of times and went to Pearl Harbor. I went out to the USS Missouri and my family had to practically drag me away from it at the end of the day.

What was the basic gist of the Uglies? I think I remember them, but it is a little foggy.

im the same way with historic things, last summer in Chattanooga we went on a Duck boat ride at the place they had a museum set up with alot of different stuff from all the wars, i read alot of letters from GI's that they had sent home, it was very emotional. I think the uglies were a husband/wife DJ team or at least thats what they protrayed? maybe!

12/07/08 01:28 PM #710

Mark Avant (1985)

Weren't the Uglies a supposed married couple? I tell ya Chuck, if you want history, you should come visit me. I live not 25 minutes from Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home), Montebello (Zachory Taylor's home)and can be in Williamsburg and Yorktown in 3 hours. Also I could be in Gettysburg about the same time. And the Marine Corps museum is about 2 hours away. That one was just built and it's one of the best military museums around (I am a little biased).

I remember Sherman Bonner. He was an combination of Ron Sherman and Tom Bonner, the 2 big weathermen of the time.

This is a question to all of those who live away from the Sheridan area! How did you end up in that end of the world? I met my wife here if Mobile she was from Tampa but living here at the time! and i took a job with a start up company after the Navy and the rest is history if not for the Military the chances of me ending up on the Gulf Coast are NONE! and yes if there was something comparable in the Aviation industry located in or around Sheridan i would move back, Due to this website and Aarons blog i find my self missing it alot more! :) thanks guys that includes you Vicki! LOL

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

Yeah, Justin...the naval base in Pensacola with the IMAX is awesome! We didn't make it to Florabama, but I wanted to!!! Instead, we went to this karaoke place (can't remember the name) and met these really cool people from Alabama (duh!) who drug me onstage with them to sing "Sweet Home Alabama" and I was oh-so-happy to oblige!!! THAT WASN'T YOU, WAS IT????? LOL!!!!

That was the most fun I had had in a LONG time!!!

We should have karaoke at the reunion! : )

12/07/08 02:41 PM #715

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

I just looked it up...it was the VIP Lounge in Orange Beach. Too much fun for someone like me who rarely gets out! LOL!

12/07/08 04:30 PM #716

Justin James (1986)

No it was not me, wish it was though it would have been a blast :)but there is not enough adult beverages in Alabama to get me to karaoke, LOL Karaoke bars are alot of fun! Florabama is more redneck, biker throw in yuppies, middle age, young kids kinda place from mild to wild it all depends on you!!!!!!! and for the most part they all co-exist! and its right on the state line hence the name! you can get drunk in both states! LOL we used to party there alot and still go to the mullet toss its a blast there will be thousands or people there for it just to see how far you can throw a stinking fish on the beach! :)

Vicki i sent you a message when you get back on?

Mark Avant (1985)

That's great Stacy, Craig was always a major doofus. We would go to Destin/Pensacola Beach every summer after I got old enough. We would bee line to Biloxi(the 1st water)and then work our way to Fla.We called the panhandle the Redneck Riviera.Kinda like our own south of France. And you haven't lived until you've karaoked in front of a bunch of strangers.

12/07/08 04:56 PM #719

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

LOL, Mark!!! Sounds like a country song! Everybody...

"You've never lived
'til you've done karaoke
in front of a bunch of strangers"

Well, sounded like a good idea at the time! : ) Karaoke is mostly a spectator-sport for me...drunk people are very amusing...especially when they sing...cuz then they REALLY mean it!!! HAHAHA!!!

12/07/08 04:56 PM #720

Justin James (1986)

it's still called that Mark, and your right about karaoke, when you have a group of people you are with it is awesome! and it help's when your drunk as a skunk and put your whole body into it! LOL
