And as one who sampled all of the games that came thru. My personal favorite was the Star Wars game.

Well I wasn't depressed, but know that you mention it I guess I should be. Now there are other questions you can ask and all of the guys could answer them.

Midget Market had these suckers at the register that I always loved. They were kind of like sweettarts, but I don't think that's what they were called. I haven't been able to find anything like them since. Does that ring a bell?

Mark - first video game in Sheridan? Wow...I have no idea. The hint about the console doesn't help me...

I give up. Tell me. I'm envious that you even know that information!

I do remember an arcade/pool hall just north of town - was it the "Electric Cowboy"? I was around 10 yrs. old then.

Other than the Midget Market, there was "Outer Limits", an arcade down at the end of the Nooner's building. Shana Pruitt used to work there all the time. Most of my gaming memories were between the Midge & Outer Limits.

Weren't the suckers lime green??? I think we used to eat them while drinking Mountain Dew - I don't remember what they were called either.....

(Good redirecting of the conversation Vic....)

*grinning with amusement*

So sorry, Aaron!!!

I have a feeling Mark's gonna make you beg for the answer. Either that or he's AFK (away from keyboard).

I checked with my brother Tom on this, he graduated in '78. And he confirmed my memory. It was TA DAA....PONG. It was at the Blacksmith Shop and was a table you could actually eat on. There was also pinball machines and pool tables. And the best pizza in town, well the only pizza in town. It was good though. I remember before I could drive I would have my mom drop me off a few blocks away and walk in. Couldn't be seen with my mom.

Becky, the ones I'm talking about were multi-colored...yellow layer, purple layer, orange layer...something like that...and VERY sour! But, Mountain Dew was always involved! : )

There were a couple other places that had games and pinball machines. One was the Yellowjacket restaurant, it was out on 270 just past the American Legion baseball field. I believe it was where they had the radio station later. And there was a place a few shops down from the ABC bookstore, it didn't last long though.

I did, the subject changes so fast here you have to go back a few posts from time to time.

Dont remember the multi-colored ones - but, yes, Mt. Dew was always involved.... and belching... :)

The 1st Tempest game in town was at the Blacksmith Shop also. It's amazing how my memory works better when I can bounce things off other people.

Aaron Wilson (1988)

"bounce things off other people"..."Pong"... Great play on words Mark. I'm sure you meant to do that! The Blacksmith Shop. Now that oughta stir up some memories! It's gone now, by the way. Gone. Leveled. Demolished. Razed. Just like McKenzie Hall. Just like Kelly-Williams Gym. Just like my old Kindergarten building. And the Midge is a Mexican Restaurant. What is our world coming to? [SIGH] *I think I'll go home, pull out my guitar and write some sad country music to this lyrical lament.

Justin...you're right. Prolly not a good idea. My husband doesn't care one iota. But it is definitely sad that you can't remember her name! : (

I guess girls/women just retain that romanticized knowledge. Lotta good it does us! LOL!
