Chuck we do the same for hurricans, Mobile area has faired ok Dauphin Island was tore up pretty good after one last year! A couple years back we lost some trees and our chimney and had to replace the shingles! not too bad though that was from Ivan! Hey its getting COLD out side it's supposed to be down in the 30's tomorrow and be back up to the 70's by Christmas Eve. wonder why we fight head colds all the time!

That's pretty good Justin, wonder what Weird Al could'a done with it? This is why Chuck runs to this day. I thought you were taller that that. Just a few days before graduation. As
I recall the weather was perfect, but we had to show off our new auditorium. This way we were limited to how many we could ask to the ceremony. I wonder if Aaron has every issue of the Headlight on microfiche at his museum...er...house?

Wow! Trip down amnesia lane. Although I think I would fit into today's skater crowd with those pants! Aaron, who are you? LOL I think you must have some major archives! Thanks for the memory! Funny line from my 3 year old tonight. Tucking him in and praying with him he had a secret. Making a big deal of it and insisting that I let him whisper in my ear. Caleb said, "Daddy, I made a fart..." Boys! That version of O Holy Night is hideous and hilarious! I'm gonna save that thing a bust it out every year. I think, No, I KNOW I am going to play that for my in-laws this Christmas! Mark, you are correct. The auditorium was the showcase that Spring. We had graduation in it and I remember sweating to the hilt. Although, outside may not have been any better. I think the class of 1989 got rained on in graduation. I still remember the Baccueluer (how the heck do you spell that thing?) Service. It was titled "Trivial Pursuit" and the pastor intermixed Trivial Pursuit questions and he exhorted us to not make our lives trivial. Very clever!

As we go to work early this Monday...this is a trip! This used to be cool! Funny thing is, when you listen to the song, it is cool, and when you watch the video you wonder! I love the caustic drummer! You "wanna piece of my heart!" Its Monday, have a great work week!

Aaron Wilson (1988)

The fact that Chuck remembers what the pastor talked about at the Baccu-sumthin' is simply astonishing.

Becky Millard (Pruitt) (1987)

HOLY COW!!! Thank you for the laugh, Chuck!!! I remember thinking they were SO sexy - - WOW.... I swear the guitar player is Will Ferrel's cousin.... WOW!!

Have a great week!

Me too Becky! Wow.

Melody - Nat King Cole "Christmas Song" - imho the best secular Christmas song & performance EVER! I have his CD - but also have the original record! My parents would play it every year at Christmas. I just told Anita last week while listening to the King Cole (now keep in mind that I have a LOT of nostalgic items in my possession), "Nothing takes me back to my childhood more quickly & vividly than this very song. Nothing."

Becky Millard (Pruitt) (1987)

He is my absolute favorite Christmas artist!!

Stacy Cunningham (Gilbert) (1989)

And mine (song that takes me back to my childhood) is Alvin and the Chipmunks...not sure what that says about my fine tuned musical ear! LOL! Anyone else? I loved this record...yes, I said it...RECORD!!

12/22/08 12:45 PM #1361

Justin James (1986)

Stacey, It is unAmerican to not like Alvin and the Chipmunks! Nate King Cole has a great voice and Christmas music would not be the same with out him! I also like Harry Connick Jr.

Mark Avant (1985)

I still say record or album also Stacey. Been a long time since I've even bought a cd. I've used Itunes for at least 5 years now. What was your 1st record? Mine was Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys.(the 1st one that wasn't passed down by my 2 older brothers that is). Then my 1st really influential record was Destroyer by Kiss. Does anyone remember Bob's House of Sound out in Slabtown?
Oh as to Christmas "records", Jon Anderson of Yes, did a Christmas album back in the 80's that was very good. His voice worked suprisingly well. Also the Christmas "record" the Bare Naked Ladies did a few years ago was very good also

Melody Gartman (Lucas) (1989)

Nat King Cole...That is my all time favorite! It takes me back! Love that song! Makes me feel PURE and INNOCENT...which I am far from! LOL

Stacy: "not sure what that says about my fine tuned musical ear" Um...says you don't have one. :) Melody: Sorry, you just ruined it when you went with Karen Carpenter. :) Mark: 1. First album: Little Engine that Could, 3rd birthday. I have a picture at home. 2. Bare Naked Ladies: I'll probably buy their Christmas CD in about 8 more years when I won't have to explain their name to my children. :) 3. Bob's House of Sound: Mom & Dad bought one of those huge stereo consoles from Bob... you know, about the size of a casket... complete with turntable, radio and 8 track. It was on said stereo that I listened to Nat King Cole. The House of Sound later became Mott's, right? 4. He shoots, he SCORES: Photobucket

We had a big console TV also did it all but change the channels, which was my job! just wish i had one of them today to show and tell with my kids, alot of my childhood TV memories came from that TV! Motts, Andy Crouse's mom owned/ran it something like that if i remember right!

Mark Avant (1985)

Yep, Aaron's deadly from the 3 point range. We had a console like that. It was in the living room. So in order to listen to my records I had to wear headphones. Big ones. Made me look like Mickey Mouse. I unnerstan' about the BNL's. I don't have that issue. Sometimes I wish I did though.
And Mott's home of the biggest order of fries in the history of humankind. Also majorly huge banana splits.
As to the ad-weren't C.B. radios kinda the chat rooms of their day?

Aaron Wilson (1988)

Ok - see the guy on the left holding the record album? Who can tell me what artist is featured on the cover? Extra points if you know the album title.

I know it's a Johnny Cash album, it kinda looks like the one he did live in San Quentin.

First record that was mine and not passed down? It was a 33 of kids songs like John Jacob Jinglheimer Schmidt and Funny Farm and On Top of Spaghetti. I can't rember the name of it but it had circles on the front.
First record passed down: a 45 of Paperlace's The Night Chicago Died....still love that song!
Loved Mott's, especially the fries...the only fries that come close (in size and taste) are the ones from Whataburger in Russelville.

Sha na na na na na na na na na.
Pretty good burgers there also.
I never had children's music, don't know why. Probably why I'm still going thru adolescence.
I did have Sesame Street, The Electric Company and Mr Roger's Neighborhood though.
