Mark... pretty in pink... exactly... which is why I was STUNNED when I met this obnoxious young dude not a year and a half ago who was in Med school no less... who popped every collar he had.

I was thinking... is he being serious here?... and eventually determined he was.

Last time I checked I wasn't a frat boy (:-)) but I too am a big Corona and lime fan. We even planted a lime tree and during college football (GREAT time of year) got to use a lime from our lime tree with the Corona. This will be the first winter so we'll see if we have it in the Spring...should have put it in the greenhouse! I like wine too. A nice pinot noir. With two small kids we are lucky to drink once a month so I'm not at all claiming to be a connoiseur, just enjoy the opportunity to relax when we can.
I got a chance to meet with the guys of Nickelback when they played a concert here in their earlier days. My office was in the basketball arena and that was the concert venue. Pretty cool guys.

Doing great. I think this web site is pretty cool. It is cool to go back and see all the old pics and videos of people, kinda brings me back to the old days. Mark i can remember hanging out with you down at the Midget Market playing Kung fu. We had some really good times back then. You can still find me in sheridan about 4 nights a week with my son or daughter playing sports. My son is on the school team with Jimmy Easleys son Colt, so i do get to see some of our old class mates occasionally.

Steve, I would agree with your assessment of Colorado and take absolutely no offense. Colorado is like "Preps gone Wild", at least on the Front Range. I prefer Wyoming any day. I just love the Rockies, period, it doesn't matter what state. Even New Mexico is cool, although it can be a bit backward and no reference to "The Hills Have Eyes" or anything like that. Lots of popped collars, turned hats and Beamers here. The academic party scene also produces alot of alcohol poisoned sorority girls and when the raver scene was big we had alot of problems with kids over-doing it. Not pretty, but it is what you get when you get youngsters with too much money and bored. As you get off the beaten track out here you find some places that are not like that and are pretty awesome Western regions with culture and down to earth people. Can't say that I pop any collars but I love my Vans and Hawaii T-Shirts. Maybe I should have been a skater? You guys have some serious analysis of beer! Hah! You guys like IPA? It's intense and I can't afford it most of the time, but ahhh! Besides, I am the poster child of addictive behavior so it is good that I can't afford my tastes.

Hey Mike, Who is Jimmy married to? Just curious. Jimmy was one of the coolest dudes I interacted with back in school athletics. Talk about a great athlete! And a great person. He really spoke reason into me back when we were competing together in baseball, basketball and track. I was always the stressed out case and he was always the calm, confident dude that had it together. He, Craig Cole and James Spann I think rolled their eyes at me a hundred times before games with my stress episodes. Not to mention yourself and Chris. LOL!

Um, doggin' on Nickelback is not allowed on this forum. I have a Nickelback shirt for every day of the week and my beverage koozie even has their name on it. : )

I'm crashing it!

Mark Avant (1985)

I know Vicki, that's why I stopped short. I could've been really mean. They give me lots of ammo. But for you, I'll resist the urge.

Jimmy married his high school sweetheart, Vicki Lawson. They named there last kid after Vicki's last name. They have three kids, Colt, Anna and Lawson. Craig live litterally next door to me up till about 6 months ago and now lives in Little Rock. He pulled his kids out of Sheridan and the attend CAC. Burt Starrett lives two doors down from me right now. I see James Spann occasionally around East End. I never see Chris or Quincy anymore.

Hey Mark, i dont know if anyone has told you but they have converted the old Midget Market into a Mexican Restraunt. I have ate there a couple of times and its ok.

Warmack, I knew , just KNEW you had taste. Extreme is major league BA.
Rhythm section tight, talented ,on the same page.
And Nuno Bettencourt, need I say more. He makes Eddie VH cry he is so good.
Only Gary Cherone kinda lags behind. But he does what he can.
Seriously underrated band.

Chuck, I just heard a newsclip about Colorado Springs and if true you live in the coolest town in the world. Is it true or have you heard that they're gonna start issuing(?) tickets to people who go too slow in the left lane? I wish they could just shoot them and dump the bodies in the landfill.(they're biodegradeable don't worry) I hate left lane bandits with a vengance. HATE 'EM!!! Not much makes me get on a soapbox but that does. And I'm not saying get in the left lane and HAMMER DOWN, just let me go on.

01/16/09 05:24 PM #1590

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

Mark, I hadn't heard that. Where did you hear that? Colorado Springs is kind of a likely candidate for road raging though. Lots of traffic and just a few roads. You sound more than a bit aggravated about left lane slowpokes. Its kind of like the scene in "Office Space". My pet peeve is sitting in traffic. Especially on the interstate. And especially when you can walk faster than you are moving...

01/16/09 05:30 PM #1591

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

Mark, my wife said that she saw on the news last night that they ARE going to write tickets to the slow scum-bags in the left lane! So I guess you got some good information and I guess I live in a cool town by your standards. Should we start house shopping for you this evening?

01/16/09 06:42 PM #1592

Mark Avant (1985)

Well, I guess I would be a little closer to AR, so my mom would be happy. But I don't think I have any shirts with the proper collar. I'd really be happy if the rest of the country would follow suit though. As this is one law that makes sense, I'm sure there will be someway to get it off the books. I love "Office Space" one of the owners of my company is just like the boss.

01/17/09 12:19 AM #1593

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

Mark, you can achieve the same effect by turning your hat a bit. I am a bit hesitant to celebrate any new legislation in Colorado. Its crazy, there are so many laws and regulations out here I can't believe it. In Arkansas, if you wanted to do something you just did it (practically). There is a city ordinance, code for building height, in some communities you can't build because it blocks Mountain views, there is even a non-enforced no spitting on the sidewalk law. Cap that stuff with the residents being armed to the teeth in this town! So get this, there is this guy that carries a shotgun around downtown Colorado Springs all the time- and its legal. (I am not for gun control so Justin just chill out :) ) But you can't spit on the sidewalk. So writing tickets to left lane slowpokes spells more revenue, more legalism, etc...But this area has a strange concoction of heavy hitting political interest groups. So how are things in Virginia?

PS. Ok, I know this post is a snoozer, but it is in context.

Where I'm at now it's like Arkansas. Before I lived in a DC
suburb and we had 2 home owner assoc's to deal with and whatever town or county ordinances. Up there for ex. on car
inspections we also had emmision checks. Down here we don't,
population density I guess. You can also carry here. We have an older gent who doesn't leave his home without his 12 gauge Mossberg. I know the brand cause we use the same barber. No one seems to care. But if he happens to be in the local Dairy Queen when someone decides to go postal, they'll regret that descision. I don't carry myself in public, but I do feel for the poor sap that breaks into my house.
This is what'll happen:

Chuck, no offense taken! I try and understand both sides of the fence on the topic of gun control, do i think convicted felons should have access to guns "NO" do i think a law abiding citizen should have access, sure if thats what they want! they are not for everyone i myself love to hunt, and i also love to shoot! i take great pride in long range shooting! Because anyone can mount a high powered scope get it sighted in and kill something at 100yds! but it takes practice and knowing the surrondings to shoot at hit your targets at 300 yds and out! any way i hate people who drive slow in all lanes. As for stupid laws they are everywhere we have one about spitting its an old law because womens petticoat dresses would drag through it! and high heels seems ladies would break there heels twist there ankles and sue!

I own 2 shotguns. I bird hunt in the Winter. I am not for gun control. I just think over legislation is ridiculous. Traffic control may be one area where it is a good thing. If you have been to other countries you know what I am talking about. I have a friend that carries a pistol on his hip everywhere. Kind of made me nervous for awhile. But I know the guy is a good guy and has all his permits, etc.. so eventually it got to the point where I didn't really notice it. Some of my other friends lean a bit to the left and were freaked out by him. Turns out, he is a security guard at "New Life" church here. If you know the story of the shooting it puts it in context.
