Since graduation, I have managed to enjoy the journey. Life is not perfect and if it were, then how could I ever know to thank God for all of His mercy and compassion? I went to University of Maryland, transferred to Elizabeth City State University, did graduate work at UDC, University of MD, and Trinity College. I have a life-long companion, Mahamet who is an amazingly wonderful family man. We have a beautiful daughter who is 27 now. She is not married and does not have any children. She teaches in DCPS. I have written an unpublished book on the best practices of teaching called "The Watering Hole, How to Motivate and Inspire Students to Learn." I am personally very happy and my sunshine is knowing God's love. I am so grateful. Now, if I could conqueor this weight. I won't give up although it has been years since I have had been able to conquer obesity issues.

Everyone knows I was raised by my aunt and uncle. They were wonderful, but I spent a lot of time feeling rejected by my parents who lived in Washington. I was just plain weird in school. I was friendly and a little over the top. I had a great deal of anxiety, fears and nervousness. I also had severe dyslexia, and did not know it until years later when I still get right and left confused while driving.
My brother drown when we were in middle school and life was just different. I spiraled in a mental world of my own. I overcame a lot, but I was fairly sad when I was not in school. School was my bright light. I looked at the pictures on the Senior site and it brought such joy to see those beautiful faces of friends.
My Aunt Lue and Uncle Joe have moved to the spiritual world and I am grateful to them both for providing for my brothers and I with such amazing sacrifice .
