Travel much? What was your best trip?
I've been lucky to have travelled a lot! My favorite place is Iceland. I've been there a half a dozen times, the best of which was when I took my favorite granddaugther, Katie on a week long horseback riding tour. No, I didn't have to get on a horse, they let me ride "shotgun" with the chef and the dog. We would meet the riders at the end of the day. Of course, we somehow managed to lose the dog in the hills of Iceland. DO you know how hard it is to find a wagging black spot in the wild? Luckily we found him. He kept everyone happy by sleeping around every night. He could end up in your sleeping bag at anytime! Iceland is as close to heaven as you can get. It is quiet, peaceful and you are constantly surrounded by broad and beautiful vistas.
On one trip, I managed to get a little lost and nearly got divorced because I read my trusty map and we drove with one wheel on the "high spot"' in the road, occasionally passed by four wheelers who were able to climb the sides of the one land road to get past us. When we successfully found the highway, we saw the small sign pointing back to where we had come from: "4 wheel drive vehicles only." The little Mitsubishi Lancer did well by us!
