Home remodel, cooking, yard work, really difficult jigsaw puzzles, travel in the motorhome, and my four dogs of course! At work I am a very active Fun Team member and am known for my love to have fun and involve others in also having fun.
Raising kids as a divorced parent aged five to nine years old until they left home is a big achievement in my opinion! In addition to working full time and for six of those years, I commuted 40 miles each way in Montana with ice, wind, and of course, lots of snow!
I utilized my administrative and construction knowledge to work for a California company, to remodel and build homes on a military base in Montana. Two of those years I worked as the Logistics Manager, to supply all materials to build 72 new homes. That was a very stressful job, combined with raising three teenagers as a divorced parent. I worked for the State of Montana prior to that five-year period in my life, and returned to work again for the state for a few more years before relocating to Oregon to be closer to family and the ocean!
In Feb 2016 I purchased property in Oregon without having physically visiting it. It is amazing the details found in Google Earth :) A few months later I left my job and Montana and started the build process on the new lot, which turned out to be such a great property. Sold that home and relocated to the Salem area to be closer to my work for the state.
I'm still working but I do look forward to retiring in the next few years. Until then, I'm very fortunate that I was permitted to work from home since March 2020 due to COVID-19, and it is a permanent situation. This means that I can work while on the road so I plan to make a couple of long-term trips in the RV to enjoy new places and spend time with friends and family.
As I reviewed my school memories, my favorites were those that involved Linda Guettinger, Mary Lancaster and Candis DeLorenzo! I had lived in Brazil of six months with my father and had attended school there, which forced me to learn Portuguese. When I flew home, I had to go to a back room at the airport to get my luggage that had arrived a few days before I did. While I was in there, I found out that Linda and a few close friends had gone into the airport to surprise me. Back in those days you could go up the gate which they did, so I missed them completely as I left the airport with my stepmom who met me there. Shortly after I got home, here came Linda in her parent's station wagon and everyone poured out to welcome me home! I was so overwhelmed! Candis was also a huge part of my life at Ferris!
