Happy Birthday, Jan. I hope it’s a bright and sunny day wherever you are. I’ve picked the sweet corn today from first-planting, checked on the watermelons, gotthe first Charantais (cantaloupe) for lunch, and noted the nectarines are a rosey red but still too hard to chomp on. Jbar

Joyce, you got around again. Lucky you, lucky me, too. It’s a hot 93* in Yakima today, but I’ve beat the heat here inside my shop where there’s plenty to do. I’ve been working on a new series of 2-carbon-oxygen ring pieces (yeah , that’s a kind of resin) in which I’ve ensconced a pine cone. After I’ve carved and hllowed them, the sole reminders of the cone are the little brown streaks that are chip tips. I’m making knobs on the lids and the knobs have dandelion seed heads lo ked inside. I’ll show you A pic. Hope your day is special as you are. Jbar

Dave, Happy Birthday. I hope your day goes as well as mine had started,here in Yakima. I’m chewing on radiche I just picked out of the garden and I sprinkled each slivver with salt. Now, I go to the workshop and make stuff.
