(Age 72)

David Myers Grant passed away March 17, 2018 at Cheney Care Center in Cheney, WA, surrounded by his children. He was born May 18, 1945 in Portland, OR to Joshua Frederick Grant and Zelma May Myers. Dave was a resident of Spokane for most of his life. He attended Wilson Elementary School, Lewis & Clark High School, Whitman College (Walla Walla, WA) and Gonzaga Law School. Dave was a private practice insurance attorney and member of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association. He was also a past President of Martin Luther King Memorial Center and an Adjunct Professor at Gonzaga Law School. Dave loved to play golf, fish, travel, but most of all, spend time with his children and grandchildren whenever he could. Dave was a member of Tua Kappa Epsilon and Pi Kappa Delta, served as an Elder at Manito Presbyterian Church, and was a dedicated volunteer for the Spokane Police Department and Spokane Sheriff's Department for 18 years.
Dave is survived by his children, Megan (Rick) McCoy and Michael (Liz) Grant; brothers, Josh (Katie) and Craig (Noi) Grant; five grandchildren, Bailey and McKenna McCoy, Kaleb, Jackson and Andrew Grant; as well as four nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 22nd at 5pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A private committal service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park.

Rip, Dave,

jsbaranyDave was a friend of mine from 2nd grade thru Lewis and Clark.  We did Cubscouts together and played at eachothers’ houses.

Dave and I went to different grade schools.  At LC he became one of a rat pack of which I was a member.  More reserved than most of us, he was a needed and steady balance to our shenanigans. . . .
