My memories at LC are forever etched in my mind and I feel very blessed to have been part of the Lewis and Clark history. Go Tigers!!!

What have you been doing the last 10 years?

My husband and I retired to the Methow Valley in 1994 - he retired from the Issaquah School District after 30 years of teaching and we wanted to relocate to "sunny eastern Washington." I substitute taught there and also ran a hotel/motel reservations bureau. We had a log home on the Methow River with over 2 acres and we consistently had wildlife in our yard. It was a beautiful setting. My husband's medical challenges forced us to move where there was superb medical care so we moved to Spokane in 2002 and lived up in Nine Mile Falls until 2007. I worked as a recruiter/headhunter for 7 years for Humanix Staffing and then accepted a job with ESD in 2009 and am still working for the state. My husband and I go to Maui every year if possible and will continue to enjoy that as long as our health allows. We love cats and have had up to 8 at one time;but we now have only 2. I am thrilled to be back in Spokane as I have always considered this as my "forever home." Update: my beloved husband passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2014 from sepsis. I miss him terribly.

How do you spend your time now?

I am still transitioning into the “widow” role as my husband passed away 6 months after the 50th reunion. I retired from the State of Washington on June 30, 2016 and have really loved not waking up to any alarm. I am volunteering once a week at the Providence Medical Park in the valley working at the information desk; I also play bridge 2 or 3 times per week; and in September, 2017 I went on an Alaskan cruise with a dear friend. Hoping to experience more cruises in the future.

Hobbies:

Playing tennis, bridge -doing crossword puzzles - taking long walks or bike riding. Spending time with the grandchildren whenever I want.

Coming to the Reunion?

Yes

Where have you traveled?

Spain, England, France, Switzerland, Germany, Portugal and Italy - Hawaii and Canada also. Just went on an Alaskan cruise this past September.

Cande was a friend even though she was a W and I was a B, so our homerooms were miles apart.  Fortunately, I never played tennis with her or I would have given up a lot earlier.  My sweet memories of her will remain tender and watm as time rolls on and other memories fade.  Rest in peace, Cande.  Jsbarany

Happy Birthday dear friend. Hope you have the special day you so deserve. How are things for you and Doug? We are hanging in there - Clint still recovering from the cancer treatments so we are staying close to home. Think about you often and am so grateful that we spent time together at the reunion. Hugs to you.
