What can I say? I puttered around South Dayton about 8 years after high school. I even worked at L & L Plumbing in Springboro for 4 years. Then I decided to suck it up and go back to school. I went to Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH, where I met my wife Sarah. I graduated with honors with an Associates in Applied Science in Physical Therapy in June of '99. Shortly after college I started studying Shito-Ryu Karate @ Bellbrook Karate. I earned my black belt in Dec '01. I trained off and on till my boys were born in Jan '03. My wife and I bought our house In May / June '03. ( FYI having twins and buying houses are both good things, just don't do both in the same 6 months!) After that, given my limited free time, I started practicing my guitar like I should have when I was in High School. In fall of '04 / winter of '05 I joined / formed a band called "Jester". We played our first gig @ McGuffy's on St Patty's day of '05. We played about 3 weekends a month, everywhere in Dayton and surrounding areas we could till St. Patty's Day '07. The highlight would have been playing McGuffy's New Year's Eve of '05. I've recently started playing with a band called "Lucid", more on that to come. My family's experienced our share of ups and downs, mostly due to the expense of twins and also due to the challenges of our recent and current economy. ( Jobs sent overseas, whole depatments downsized, ect.) I have worked @ Sycamore Glenn Health Center ( part of the Kettering Health Network ) as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for 6 years, the Dayton Rehabilitation Institute for 2 years, and have back @ SGHC for almost a year now. Both my boys play soccer in West Carrollton and I'm in my second spring coaching. My wife of almost 9 years, Sarah works @ Brower Insurance in downtown Dayton.
What can I say? I look back on High School with warm and fuzzy feelings. It was a much easier time, although at the time I never would have believed it. Are there things I would have done differently or have liked to have had different outcomes? Sure, but for the most part I wouldn't change anything. Not even getting hit by a car on my bike on the way to a football practice we didn't have. Well... maybe that.
