Hey Greg!

You realize the Brady Bunch references could come right back at ya? But, I'll spare you! :)

Look forward to seeing you in Oct.

Ouch! Good point Marsha. Cindy Lyons and Vanhoose as well.

Yea, the "Cindys" had some mad hair.

About Mary Help: I never went to the school because I was a transplant in 8th grade. However, I have fond memories in HS of church on Sunday and seeing all my classmates with previous night's hang-over. Greg, Kevin B, Beth B, Big Mindy (I'm sure there were more) ... sittin' there with our families, we looked like Dawn of the Dead ... that always made me laugh. Greg - you were a BAD influence! ha ha

Mikey thats so funny and true. The great thing about being a catholic is you can sin your ass off Sat night and confess on Sunday and its all good!

I was thinking about starting a poll about which Cheerleader's 80's hair had the worst impact on the enviorment. The winner has to send Al Gore a nice letter of "I'm sorry" My Nominees?

Cindy Lyons, Cathy Wunder, JT, Cheri A, hmmm oh yeah Amy Harrison had some big ass hair. Sarah Wells..while not technicially a member of the class of 88 (but she married a cool dude in our class and she was a cool chic so she gets to be an honorary member of our class) had some REAL big hair. If I had to vote I think Sarah wins with Cindy Lyons a close second. Michelle I don't remember your hair being as big as those other girls but hey what do i know, that was many many many joints ago. My short term memory is not what it used to be (thanks Matt Mark Russ and Mike)

Michelle, I really dig this forum. You did such a good job. Not only is it a great way to talk to people i have not seen in 20 years, its something for me to do at work other that...well...work. Uh oh here comes my boss gotta go!

Marsha! Hey, good to see your pics. By the way, was it off your hill (I know you wont' claim it) or nearby (we had access to it) that Andy Rigsbee sled into the wall of the Conway apts and broke his arm? God I loved all those hills in the winter--they looked so much bigger back then. But what the hell when you are on a sled on a hill thats covered with ice that terminitates across a slushy road that ends in a parking lot full of parked cars? A kids dream!!!

Greg, you look great!. Why didn't you ever grow an afro in the 90's you wimp? They came back at the start of this decade...
I thought you'd be more on top of things!!! Drop me a msg.

I was really surprised at first to see Pink Flyod on the playlist. I had forgotten that it was 1988 when they came out with "Turning Away". Was always a huge fan but listened to mostly old stuff as a yout (psychodelic). Fortunately, was able to see them the last two times they toured in USA. Both were outstanding.
Just got carried away apparently & forgot that one of their best albums before totally splitting in different directions was from "The Delicate Sound of Thunder".
Wow, how time morphs...
Am I getting old?

Mike, yes you are getting old ... but at least you are in great company! Re the playlist, I tried to cover everybody's tastes ... if there's a song you (or anybody else for that matter) want added, just shoot me a message!

Hey Mike!

Hmm, well, since we had a fence at the bottom of our hill, I'm guessing you guys probably just cut through our yard like everybody else did. But, there were definitely some good sledding hills back there!

See you at the reunion. (We'll have to compare notes on 7-year-old daughters named Abby!)

Mike WennttZZZ! -
You are the MAN! I still tell stories about you. Like my 1 of 2 favorite HS stories is when you were T'Ping Greenon (or something), jumped over some fence and you got your massive class ring stuck and ripped your finger to shreds. That was you? Right! Awesome.

My other favorite story was watching Terry Stamper riding his trickt-out moped to school... as a Senior. His Top Gun-like fly by's were great.

Gregory Simon Jurick (Blackshear)

God almighty father I forgot all about Terry Stampers moped ride to school.Where is he?

How about trying to manipulate the chics with swimming pools (Clark and Bogumil, later Bledsoe) into inviting us over to swim. Matt and I used to call Beth B in 9th grade and invite her over to run under a garden hose on a hot day, just so she would go "Oh why not come over and swim in my pool" really Beth? I hadnt thought of that! Ok! What about loading 15 people into the Bananna Boat and going to see all those Friday The 13th movies in the 80's? JT was like the default non drinking driver. She drove my car more than I ever did.

Yeah yeah on the big hair thing...at least I was in good company. Definitely should have invested in White Rain or Aqua-Net. It's pretty bad when Sarah Wells and my favorite line was "when in doubt, use hairspray."
Greg, you crack me up!

Jay A. Young

Okay, Greg how did I get drug into this hair competition... when I'm the class of *89 not 88... I know it is Jay's fault (He hears that a lot living with 4 woment)..LOL...... Thanks for the vote and thinking of me.... You are right, Cindy.... I forgot that quote... how funny is that?? I remember Mr. Hill asking me one time, " how do you girls get your hair that high?".. then he said," I think I'm going to stand out here and measure it.." Well he never did, but you are right I would have been close to the top, ... but if we want to drag in younger names,,,,,,,,, I think Ann Harrison would have been the ultimate winner!! Jay and I can't wait for the reunion. I loved the class of 88 and feel like it is part of my own as well, so I'm so glad I married into it so that I can see everyone!!

Sarah--
I agree! Ann Harrison did have the biggest hair! OMG... it had to have been at least 4 inches tall!

Hey, Lets talk Greenon Sports! I played soccer (I know, no one cares) all 4 yrs and my senior year we won the first ever CBC Championship (we were beating people for years before the CBC play-offs were established and going to State my sophomore year-losing in the finals).

Anyway, my favorite motivational speech came from our fearless captain, JJ Menozzi. Senior year, in the play-offs we were playing a team that was going to kick our ass. Well, JJ gave this big speech since he saw that we Knew we were going to lose.... and delivered this great line that we made fun of him for a long time -

"Hey Guys! Its still Zero to Zero before the game Starts..." and we're like, duh. Thanks for that JJ. And of course, we got our ass kicked. ha ha

JJ you were awesome. If you read this, do you remember Vern's Beavercreek Celtics team we used to travel with our JR and SR year winning Tourneys all over the South? Do you remember "Z", Robby Lush, and the Metallica boys from Wayne HS?

I can't remember our football team? Hey Cheerleaders, did we have a good team? I remember basketball was good. I think we had a good track team and Matt was really good at tennis. Greg Tyrone was a good golfer... Oh, and our Girls Soccer team was Always real good. Fun to watch them win.

Michelle Bledsoe (Johnson)

Mike-

How are we (cheerleaders) supposed to know if we had a great football team??? WE WERE CHEERING -- not paying attention! Just kiddin' ... I think we were okay in all sports ... after we left it all fell apart, but they are getting back into the swing of things again!

Not to be morbid but I sorta have a photagraphic memory for tragedy. Today Sept 8 was the day (in 1982) that both Indian Valley and Huested lost 2 of our classmates.

Mike Schemel (spell?) died on Sept 8, I beleive he was in our (Mrs Eagles)7th grade homeroom with Jill, Buff, Myself and Matt P. Also, Marty Koob (who was one year ahead of us) died the same day, so keep them in your thoughts.

I remember that was sort of both of our classes first (but sadly not our last) brush with losing a classmate, so keep em both in your prayers.

09/09/08 08:43 AM #60

Marsha Hanscom (Stroup)

Whoa! I remember Mike Schemel from like 6th grade. He was really funny - he did imitations, voices & crazy noises. It was tough facing the reality that even a kid our age could die. It was very surreal at that age. I guess at ANY age. That's incredible that you can remember the date 26 years later, Greg!

Heather Donne Bates (Cox)

Hey, was drinking considered a sport at Greenon? If so, I have plenty of stories. :-) Not about me of course, only other people (even bigger smile).

Bryan Eugene Ziegenthaler

Well it's looking like I probibly will not have a baby sitter Saturday night for the dinner. Is anyone else bringing there kids?

09/11/08 03:50 PM #63

Gregory Simon Jurick (Blackshear)

Hey Heather if drinking was a sport I agree you could have been on the All Star Team. Hey if dating was a sport u might have started varsity. In 9th grade! As the team Captain! (sorry, if set up the bowling pins I'm gonna try and knock em down everytime)

Seriously Archabold, Bates and Bogumil were like the Shaq, Kobe and Iverson of the Beer drinking set...not many guys in our class could keep up with them.....

09/11/08 04:32 PM #64

Heather Donne Bates (Cox)

Good one Greg. Have I told you how much I miss you?

Well at least I was good at something! ;-)

09/11/08 05:43 PM #65

Gregory Simon Jurick (Blackshear)

No you have not told me how much you miss me. And you also have not "Told me lately that you love me" (wasnt that a song?) Hey I thought you were good at a lot of things. Being cute and sexy for example. Your still good at that (I aint that gay!)

Heather do you remember when you, me, Beth B and Michelle and Matt were up at lake Erie one summer? You and me got on an intertube and floated WAY out. I told you they had sharks in the Lake and you freaked out and tried to paddle back to shore at light speed?

09/11/08 08:08 PM #66

Diane Clark (Santana)

I know i missed most of junior year and ALL of senior year, but I have the worst memory. I am having a hard time remembering much from school at all. Expect for a few guys that I don't remember the names of. Is anyone else out there feeling the same way. some of you all remember teachers name and classes and dates. WOW, I am impressed. I'm lucky if I remember what I did last week!!!

09/11/08 09:24 PM #67

Gregory Simon Jurick (Blackshear)

well my memory has been enhanced by all the weed i smoked over the years (pot creates brain cells, didn't ya know) Hey Diane try getting a dime back and some rolling papers. After a joint or two you will be able to recite your entire junior schedule.
