One thing I do remember is that pot made me incredibly paranoid!! My junior year in Phoenix, me and a friend David Lawerence( the guy that Beth went to prom with) got high before pre-calc and I drove him crazy the whole class. He swore he would never get high with me again. I think the same thing happened with me and Kim D. when we got high with Gary Lininger and the guy Amy Haas dated!! Wow I think those were the only things I remember. Weed really does work!!!

What's up w/ all the honesty on this website~are you all looking to end up @ the Enon police station the night of homecoming? Greg, thank you for reminding us of all of past classmates that aren't w/ us. You know, Diane struggled w/ Mike's death for years. I still have some perfume he gave me. And well Matt, my first kiss, guess that helps to explain some of my mistakes LOL.

Hey Buffie,

I think we're all enrolled in the 12-step program. Are you coming to the reunion?

09/14/08 12:05 PM #71

Diane Clark (Santana)

Heather, how is your training going? I can't remember when your race is?

09/15/08 09:36 AM #72

Heather Donne Bates (Cox)

Hey Diane,
Training is going well (until this past Saturday). We ran (and I use that term loosely) 20 miles in the most humid conditions I have run in. It was horrible. Everyone struggled. But at least we made it. The Marine Corps marathon is October 26th. I am so excited. What better way to see DC for the first time? When is yours?

09/16/08 08:09 AM #73

Diane Clark (Santana)

my running buddy!!
I ran my 20 this saturday. 2 down 1 to go. I am running NY and it is nov 2nd. I think I told you I ran Marine corp last year. It was a BLAST. Funnest (is that a word) (Roland would know!!) one I have ever ran. Plan on staying a while after. IT is a mad house!!!

Buffie I love you. I'm proud of you too. Takes a lot to be yourself and say fuck what everyone else thinks. You always did have the bigger balls than most guys in our class so your new life actually makes sense to me. Do you still have the Toni Basil "Micky" record I got you for Christmas in 7th grade? I will never forget my first day of school @ Indian Valley in 7th grade. Matt and I were brand new from Mary Help and Buffy and Jill walked in our class in full Mean Girls mode, looked us up and down and said "I guess we will sit with you guys since you look like the only two decent guys in this class" MEOW! I was smitten! You better tell it Lindsy Lohan!

The bad news is I'm not sure I will be able to come. I really really want to the problem is my job. They have fired 3 other people who do what I do so currently I'm the only supervisor that works Friday and Sat night. I asked for the time off a month ago and was denied. They told me if they manage to hire and train someone new by the end of Sept they will let me go. Normaly i would be all black about it and just call in sick when the weekend came but since I already asked for it off that would be shady and since I only been in this position for 5 months don't want t0 lose my job (electricity is FUN, i like coming home to it, Im funny that way) So there is still a chance, I'm still optimistic but things are looking kinda shaky. I'm gonna do my best. If I do come it will be alone because Dewyne has to work as well but I'm fittin ta try (fittin ta, I been down south to long)

OK you all,
I am the one who got all the crap for supposedly doing drugs and just being a bad influence, and you'all were coming to school high!(And I am not talkin about your hair height.) :-) Man, isn't that the crap.
Anyway, I can't believe no one remembers how bad the football team was...or maybe we want to forget! I was in band (yeah band fag!), I know, I HAD to watch every friday. We won maybe 2 games every year! That's OK 'cause most of the rest of the sports kicked some ass for as small of a school we were.
OK - here is one Greg...Do you remember break dancing in the gym at IV? Well, you were mostly hanging out...not all black men can dance ya know. :-) Sorry, had to hang it out there. BTW - I didn't realize you knew Marty Koob

09/16/08 11:52 AM #76

Gregory Simon Jurick (Blackshear)

Mart Koob and I were both adopted by white familys through Catholic Social Services. My dad and Steve Koob (Martys dad) were close friends so we met when we were 3 years old. My sister Marianne (and Cathy Wunders sister Michelle) were also cool with Martys sister Julie Koob.

Danea you were my first kiss! (i know i know I guess I'm the opposite of that Katie Perry song "I kissed a girl and I...well I didnt like it"...kidding I was diggin you! actually I was in love with Danea for like 3 years after our first kiss at Missy Fugates make out party. You intimidated me because you could kick my ass in soccer and basketball!

Danea do you remember in 10th grade you, me Matt Sprague, Rhonna and Nanja all shared a locker? It was so full papers just stuck out of it and it would never close? A reporter from the Enon Shopper (Mad River Weekly) was in the halls and asked us if she could take a picture of our over stuffed locker for the paper. She asked us why we all shared one locker and Nanja told her black people @ greenon only got one locker to share! The reporter looked embarrased and when we finaly saw our picture in the paper the next week the reporter said Nanja had said "its more fun that way!" I have decided not to create any spreadsheets or evalute any employees today at work. I'm protesting having to miss my reuinion by staying on this forum all day and acting obnoxious. That will show em! Bastards!

09/16/08 09:17 PM #77

Danea Lynn Connolly

Yea,
That was my locker! I still have the newspaper article/picture from that, it was tooo funny!! I couldn't believe she said that. The reporter just stood there, not knowing what to say! That is Nanja for you. Bobby Tiffner was in there too. All us dark folk together. Rhona was mad at me too for not getting her for the picture. The picture is scary by the way!

Buffie Courtney

Danea, were you really watching the game?? Is that what the drummers do? Did we have a bad team? I was typically oblivious! Buddy, David, Todd, & I were just screwing around and hoping Mr. G would have us play "We Got the Beat" since it actually had a pretty good sax part. And what about those band hats...I'd fix my hair only to have it smashed down. I'm gonna find one of those hats for Sat night!!! LOL And then, remember band camp, when he's stand high up & yell. Calling you out by name, "wrong foot Buffie." And I'm thinking it's a hot August day, my lips are chapped, I'm putting up w/ Buddy & David's shit again and you're worried about my footing Mr. G. Really??? Thank god those days are over!!

Michael Sean Gower

I have a confession... I dated Rhonna for 1 day in 8th grade. I was the new kid and she came up to me and said I should "go with her". I was nervous and said... "uh ok". Actually we were friends until she fell away somewhere. Nanja was also always cool to me too.

I remember Rhona being really good at soccer. Actually I was kind of a girl's soccer groupie cuz ya'll were so good. I faintly remember Beth ruthlessly smashing people all the time. J.Tropp was a winger and really fast. Also Jill and Dennea were really good too. Buffie (great profile btw) and Sara too, right? Or were u girls volley ballers? Man, that was long time ago.

Poll Question:
Who, out of our class, had the biggest party at their House. my vote Greg's #1 - the one with the fight. #2. Russ C. - blow out in Hauck Meadows #3. Beth B's pool party w/ JT and Kim. #4. My house - When all the girls slept on my parents expensive ugly shaggy rug, Cherie, Heather, I think Michelle. Also Ryan K. getting so drunk he tore down the shower in my bathroom. That was awesome. #5 - JJ's graduation party.

09/17/08 01:04 PM #80

Jennifer Erin Hutchinson (Hunt)

I cannot answer Mike's poll question, because I clearly was not cool enough to even know about the good parties. I guess I was a late bloomer. Anyway, I'm happy to see Nanja and Rhonna come up -- whatever happened to them? I played soccer with Rhonna all through middle school. My primary memory of her is that she liked to pick on me, probably because I was such an easy target (being so gullible). And Nanja and I were really close in 7th grade. She was the funniest person I've ever known (next to Greg, of course). I remember getting a godawful perm from her mom once.

I also remember the football team being awful. Not because I was watching the games, but because I had to attend all of them and there was never anything to celebrate at the end. Yes, the band hats were awful, but what about those ridiculous flag corps outfits? I cringe every time I see a picture. Who was it who thought plastic go go boots were a good idea?

09/17/08 05:04 PM #81

Gregory Simon Jurick (Blackshear)

Well considering that my party reslulted in me getting kicked out of my house and living at Cathy Wunders house for about a year I hesitate to vote for my ill fated shindig. Not only did Russ and his brother get into a fight with Chris Wilson @ that party but there was a killer there! Todd someebody who had a sister one year ahead of us,They both went to Greenon she had blonde hair? Her older brother killed someone in Snyder Park then came to my party.Mom and dad were so proud.

Mike I remember those girls spending the night at your house, your mom and dad would cook the best breakfast for us. Hey Jennifer H don't feel bad Rhonna picked on everyone even the guys. The year after we graduated Mike and Russ started a stoner indoor soccer team that played in Dayton. Rhonna, Nanja, me, Mark holmes, Mike,Jill, JT Russ, Russ brother? I think we had tie dye uniforms? Am I imagining this team? Did I really do that many drugs in highschool? We would smoke and trip on acid before the games and we never won a game but Rhonna used to scare all the guys on the other teams. Didn't Beth Hopper and Cherie Archbald have make out parties in 8th grade? I know Missy Fugate did. Chris Randal and Bobby Tiffner spending the night in 8th grade and we snuck out of my house to sneak down to Cathys house who was also having a sleepover. We had to climb a fence and Chris R got stuck hanging upside down.

How about going to see every single Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th that ever came out on opening night (I'm talking to you JT) JT used to be SOOOO into Madonna, she had everyone in our class sign her wall in her room! Wow some of this stuff I have not thought about in years.....

I really liked Rhona and Nanja For some reason they didn't pick on me!! I remember they had me over and we all went shopping I think with Matt S. I was so scared I thought they were going to kidnap me!! But they did me up all punk for one of the dances. I remember them putting black mascara in my hair and I was afraid they were going to cute off my hair! After that they became my body guards and they scared away any one I didn't like!! Nanja dated Darren Gilley after I did and she called me one time in Phoenix asking if I could send her the motorcycle helmet he gave me. I haven't heard from her or Rhona for YEARS!! Anybody know where they are?

Jennifer Jt Taylor (Parish)

Funny you should mention Madonna, Greg. I have tix to her concert in Detroit in November. I went to her very first concert in 1985 (still have the T-shirt), then I went to another one. I figure I should go to this one, she is so old and might die and never tour again.

OK buffie, I didn't really watch much of the game too busy yapping and waiting to beat on a drum, but I did check the score board every now and again to see how we were doing. Never good! You know it is always funny when you can start out a funny story with "one time in band camp..." (ya'all saw that movie with that in it, right?)
Mike, thanks for the Kudos to the girls soccer team. I always tell everyone how good that team was but I don't think they understand the talent we had on that team. If only we had a good coach. And like you said, no CBC. Check out this group: Courtney, Joyce, Beth, Sara, Jill, Buffie, ennimoser, Nicole Wade, Jenny Smith, Belinda Dean, Laura Banks, Laura Menozzi, Jenny Boyer, and me. There were a few more but you get my jist. OH, and I do remember that day you dated Rhona. I am sure I was there when she asked you. Funny, forgot about that.
And I am with Jennifer, never went to any of those party's so can't compare. I went to a party at Jill's once...but that was after high school. Last time I drank Mad Dog. WHOA!
I talk to Rhona's mom every now and again, she was like a 2nd mom to me for awhile. I told her about the website today but I doubt Rhona has access. I talked to Rhona about 5 years ago or less, she didn't really give up much information. All I know is she is living in Florida. As for Nanja, last I heard she was in Cali. I did a name search online a couple years back and someone with that name (it is sooo common) still lives there. I never called the number so who knows.

WOW, uhmmmm Greg I think you made up for the drugs I never did? BTW are your adopted parents still on Haddix? They were always cool to us.
I was just thinking of Rhonna who was ALWAYS messing with me good and bad.
I lived across from the Koobs on Quailhollow after leaving Holiday Valley and will always remember that story very sad.
Mike do you remember Mr. Meeks? Didn't we go to Cedarville to a Basketball game?
JT, I remember the Madonna days well. It's been a long time! How R U? Jerry

I've been wondering what happened to Nanja myself!

Last time I saw her was in the 90's. My Dad was in the hospital and somehow I heard she was in there too.
She'd been hit by a car! I think she came out of it ok.
Anyone know where she ended up? I'd love to see her at the reunion!

09/19/08 02:19 AM #87

Lisa Marlana Eichelman (Stasiak)

Our football team was horrible. I was in the band too (yes, the hats were definitely bad for big 80's hair) and I think we only won one or two games. I know because we were supposed to do some victory march at the end of the game when we won. I think we stopped even practicing it after our sophomore year!

Buffie, I cannot hear that Toni Basil "Micky" song without seeing you singing it!! You loved that song! My oldest loves it now too! That 80's stuff is coming back! I keep seeing all the neon stuff coming back.

Can't wait to see everyone!

So whats everyone doing this weekend? Any plans?

09/30/08 10:55 AM #89

Michelle Bledsoe (Johnson)

The question is, GREG, what are YOU doing this weekend???

10/01/08 02:31 PM #90

Gregory Simon Jurick (Blackshear)

Sigh....I tried God knows I did but there was just no way for me to get out of work. I'm trying to be more responsible in my old age and since I just got this new position, and already missed some work do to an absessed tooth a plane ticket and missing 2 days of work is just not in the cards not to metion the wallet. However to honor all my caucasion classmates I will be listening to Whitesnake all weekend.
(Lets face it, our class was hella white...how white? It was whiter than Macaulay Culkin.....sitting on Michael Jacksons lap....in a blizzard...listening to whitesnake.

Michelle Bledsoe (Johnson)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ... it's almost here!!! As of today, 58 classmates have registered to attend the game; about the same amount have registered to go to Legend's (most will go to both; a few will only attend the game while others will only go to Legend's). For Young's on Saturday afternoon, about 45 families will be there to represent our class. Brian Patterson has given me a boatload of coupons for FREE stuff! If anyone is interested in going to breakfast on Sunday morning, you need to answer the survey so Brian knows how many to expect! Bring your parents, siblings, etc.--I'm sure everybody would love to see everybody else again!

Greg, you will be missed! And, Whitesnake ROCKS! ;-)
