Learning to live alone has been a challenge,yet how fortunate I am to have had such a wonderful partner in my life. Our families are all within an hour of me and I am so very blessed to be involved in the various activities of the Grandchildren. One Grandson,now 16 has played my Flute for the past 10 years and upgraded to a professional one this Christmas..3 Granddaughters are equestrians,so I am delighted to see my passion carried on. Others in the group are gifted Mathematicians,which escaped me,so I am delighted in their enthusiasm! I live by the ocean for which I am forever thankful for its healing and renewal.

I did Medical Research in Boston for a number of years and then started my own business (Interior Landscape) which I ran for 15 years..you know hotel lobbies with those big trees..did weddings on the weekends so all 6 children learned to work early!

My Great Great Grandfather came to North Springfield as the Village 'Ironer' and Blacksmith..the original building still stands across from the NS Post Office. My Dad's Mother started 'The Stand' where she offered meals at a lunch counter to the locals..baking 12 or so pies each morning. 'The Stand' was attached to the Blacksmith Shop and eventually my Dad..Carl Parker, began to go with a couple of his buddies from SHS to Boston after class and pick up cars and drive them back to Springfield. He started a car repair shop within the blacksmith building as the change took place from horses to automobiles. He started a 'taxi' business and installed gas pumps at the Stand..I'll eventually add photos!
My early job was to stock the 'Coca-Cola' ice box..remember Moxie? Eventually with the help of a step
stool I managed to scoop ice cream into cones for the patient customers..ah the muscles!!
My Dad through the SHS Co-Op course worked for The Gear Shaper for 40 years.

Heading to UVM to see my Grandson Justin graduate from UVM May 20th..oh my!! He has been hired to do Research in the Cardiology Lab at MGH..and Granddaughter Brittney graduates from UMass Amherst the week before..several pending jobs in the works. How have these little peanuts become amazing adults so very quickly..Very blessed to have family..

I'm seriously considering downsizing and currently searching for the right place to move..
