Favorite East Memory:
Thad Maloney asked Jim Sprick and I to help him with his pole vaulting technique. After pole vaulting about 3 feet high, we had to tell Thad that he missed the box ( the box is at the end of the runway to stick your pole to get leverage to vault ). As we were already laughing our heads off, Thad had this surprised look on his face and said, "I missed the box?" Then Sprick told him that he could pee higher than that.
Pole vaulting with Thad, Jim, and Wildman Bill Savage was a great time, even though we all sucked. Wildman was pretty good, when he wasn't flying off to the side and landing on his head.
God Bless Thad. He was one of the funniest guys I ever met.
