Thanks Steve for the updated list which was given to kathy and Nikki to begin the email and mailings. Linda was there as well to help. Everything is coming together really well. Oh and Dave you will have a lot of fun without the pun so put away your track shoes you won't have to run! So far we have about 40 classmates attending. Love to hear from more so we can save on emails/ mailings. Thanks again everyone!!

I'm hoping there is a good turn out; however, 40 is a good number to start.

So classmates, what are your plans for the summer?

06/04/24 07:36 PM #2524

Robert Ayre

Dave I just returned from a Canadian fishing trip with one of our fellow classmates Bob Dedic. Had fun despite the cold rainy weather. Caught some nice fish and released them all. Bob Deduc can show you pictures of HIS Fish but none of mine, since the camera failed to come out when I caught fish, hmm. Finally this weekend if it is nice I will get out kayaking.
I don't know about Wisconsin but the mosquitos are horrendous! Thank goodness for bug head nets! Enjoy the summer!

Happy Birthday to all those celebrating in June!
All the very best wishes for many more!

Bob, I know what you mean about the camera not catching a picture of my fish. I went out fishing with my 6 year old grandson (after his golf lesson- class); so it was only for a forty miniutes. Sure is beautiful today! Hope everyone is healthy and well; also, hope you are having a wonderful summer!

Dave F, I caught a couple walleyes for you up in Canada. If you're not here in 20 minutes I'm going to eat them without you.

Steve, I'm going to miss the fish, just saw your invitation. wink Hey, everyone (and Steve), do you remember such a green June! Looks better than a jungle.

Robert Ayre

Dave the grass is like a jungle! Should be baling instead of mowing. Glad I can hide in a screened in porch away from the hummingbird sized mosquitos! Steve B. Glad you got some nice walleye. Hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far. Thank you very much to those whom have responded to the reunion invitation. I know Kathy and Nikki will be sending out emails and hard copy invitations. Stay safe and healthy!

Wishing everyone a great 4th of July! Stay safe and healthy! Make sure you give your family members and friends a HUG!
WE are getting some great responses to the reunion with a lot of fun things planned! This is our 50 year reunion!!! Look how fast it has gone by. For those who have sent in their invitation or responded via email with your payment that is a tremendous help as we have to order the food.etc. ahead of time. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! A big thank you to those whom have also sent extra donations to ensure a fun time.
There will be prizes awarded and a GRAND PRIZE at the end of the night! I hope you will all walk away saying " REMEMBER WHEN!"

Bob, the reunion sounds like fun. Sounds like I am not the only one looking forward to seeing everyone. Happy 4th of July.

Hope you all had a great 4th of July!  Ditto to Bob's post! In addition, we appreciate knowing how many classmates are attending so we can plan for food, and have the needed money to cover expenses prior to the event. So...... please get your registrations in as soon as possible!   You can mail checks to me at 490 Warner Ave So Mahtomedi, MN  5515 or Venmo me @yvette-nierenausen.  $40  or  $70 with your spouse!  We are looking forward to a fun night!  Response has been great thus far!  62 attending to date!  Hope everyone is well, and we looking forward to a fun get together in the fall!

I have heard recent rumors about the Red Barn entering chapter 11 and them having stiffed at least a few wedding receptions in the process.  Does anyone know anything about this and can maybe comment on it.  Is it true?

Yvette Fuchs (Nierenhausen)

I did not hear that!  I will call them now!  Thanks for sharing!

I just spoke with the VFW Red Barn, and she said that was not true.  Can I ask where you heard it from?  I will talk to the head manager on Monday and let you know what I find out!

07/05/24 05:07 PM #2538

David Frazer

I heard of a couple of for profit wedding venues stiffing couples (and taking the money just before closing doors).... from a local news report. One was from Isanti and the other closer... I haven't heard a VFW; but, of course I haven't heard a lot of things.laugh

Not to repeat myself ( I know Bob 😅) I will let you know what I find out on Monday!  Enjoy your weekend!

07/06/24 08:21 AM #2540

Robert Ayre

Thanks Jon for the information which will be checked out on Monday. The only information I know of is other venues not returning money to cancelled weddings. Where the people cancelled getting married. And they were expensive wedding venues not the VFW Red Barn. We will keep everyone updated on Monday. Enjoy the sunshine when it comes out!

Yvette, I'll see if I can find an acoustics technician to work on this echoing issue . . . issue . . . issue . . . laugh

Ha Steve!  I think it's my echoing problem 😁

07/07/24 08:16 AM #2543

YVETTE it's not an echo but your Babel lesson where you repeat things to learn the new language, like "shut up Bob"! Ha!
Looking for some help in bringing some memorabilia to the reunion (jackets, pictures pins, etc) to display. Thank you!
