I just spoke with VFW Red Barn in Cottage Grove.  Connie assured me that they are not filing Chapter11!  In fact there are other "Barn" venues that have, and have not honored reserved dates for some weddings.  The VFW has actually provided their venue (at no charge) to these wedding events to help them out!  Please squash any rumors you may here!  We are on for our 50th, so get your registrations in!

Thank you very much Yvette Yvette Yvette, practicing my Babbel like you. That's great news that are VFW venue is not what the rumors thought. So as Yvette mentioned please send your invitation in via mail or email along with your check or venmo to Yvette. If you don't leave this reunion with a smile I will give your money back!

I wish I could add to the clever conversation... just can't keep up to all of you. So, I'm posting to say I wish i could post, to just post. There, posted.. Another question, Where is the count down clock until the reunion and picnic, Steve? I am praying for a great time!.

A beautiful day here today in Minnesota. I hope everybody is enjoying their summer so far. We are getting more great responses and look forward to our class reunion! If there are those on the fence trying to decide whether to come all I can say is PLEASE do! Fun things planned with awards etc. Good food, drinks.... the rest you will see.
The hard part was in putting together the Memorial board and seeing how many fellow classmates we have lost. So don't miss this opportunity to see and talk to as many of your fellow classmates and friends. In the meantime have fun. Send in your invitation with the money so we can know the amount of food. If you decide to come at the last minute please know we can only accept cash or check at the door. And we need to account for your name badge with your picture. So please make it easy for us.

Yes, great weather this week.. Deb and I are bringing the bikes down to Lanesboro this weekend.. isn't that a rule in Minnesota that if there's good weather, you have to go outside?

Bob,

I posted your last message as an announcement on the opening page, asking the readers to contact you or Yvette.

Steve K. That rule depends on the mosquitos to human flesh quotas! It is nice having a screened in porch to enjoy the sunsets and nice breeze without the Minnesota state birds (mosquitos) attacking and leaving itching welts for days!
Lanesboro is a great place for bike riding. Do you visit the Amish places as well. Thet make beautiful furniture and other items. Trout fishing is good as well. Have fun!

Where has the summer gone? Can anyone help me find it?

Dave! I just looked outside and there it is! SUMMER!
 It's beautiful! laugh

One of these days soon, I should buy you lunch and then we go out fishing.

Robert Ayre

Dave F. I didn't know summer was missing, but apparently Steve B. Found it!! How many ways are you going to split that one French fry for Dave's lunch. Easier to get fish fil
et sandwiches then for the two of you to catch fish. Ha,!

David Frazer

Food? Did you say food Steve? Bob, if you come too, I'm sure Steve will buy you fish; I will buy at least one french fry.

07/26/24 12:34 PM #2560

Steven Bilderback

We could split a french fry three ways but I have a better idea. We'll invite Dave's darling bride and have her buy us what ever we want. Dave may get into trouble for it but hey, he's use to it. laugh

Sue is pretty easy going! She understands that my mom can't afford to buy me friends anymore; so, Sue has taken over. But, she says she knows it is a hard job; but, she says you guys need to step it up or she will stop paying you to be my friends.

Classmates. I just thought of something (my first thought ever too - beat you to that one Bob). This will be the last reunion before we spend hours talking about our health and surgeries. Make sure you make it in October. Anyone is welcome to talk about their health this reunion. Should be fun to hear all your stories; to hear about your significant others; to hear about your life experiences; and best of all, to see how many classmates were able to retain their smiles.

07/29/24 02:53 PM #2563

Yvette Fuchs (Nierenhausen)

Yes!  We have 90 Classmates//Spouses already showing up!  It will be a fun night, with plenty of time for hearing all about our aches and pains, as well as how great the last 50 years have been!  Message me if you need the details!!  See you there!

07/29/24 06:36 PM #2564

Robert Ayre

Dave! Wow! You can claim that one for yourself as I never associated "fun" with aches and pains. But to each there own. The only aches and pains I want will be from the corners of my mouth from smiling and laughing! But you did say this is the last reunion "before" we start talking about that stuff!!

Hey Jeff! Anything more about getting together with some classmates to canoe /kayak?

07/29/24 11:46 PM #2565

Steven Bilderback

I'm all set for fun on the water, I have extra canoes if needed.

Sorry, I don't have any aches or pains to talk about, I'm still just a kid. I'll have to send them over to Dave F. or, I could just make some cool stuff up I guess. wink

I hope to see y'all there!

Well, here it is August 6th. Days are getting shorter. Weather is perfect. Does anyone else feel like their task are getting ahead of them? The good news is we have a fun reunion to look forward to attending. I'm looking forward to the relaxing picnic the next day.

Yvette Fuchs (Nierenhausen)

Thanks Dan Sopkowiak for the kind donation to our reunion!  Sorry you can't make it!  Maybe next time?  Take care!

Dave, wait! Please slow summer down a bit!life is going by way too fast. Almost state fair time then labor day and then it was back to school! That was more than 50 years ago! I'm am truly hoping this time together will bring back some of those memories and create some new and lasting ones as well. We have had a couple of special requests, so if anyone else has any please let us know now. As you know time does not wait! Thank you all ahead of time for your participation in attending! I look forward to seeing all of you there!

08/07/24 05:49 PM #2569

Yvette Fuchs (Nierenhausen)

Hey, don't let the August 11th deadline for signing up for the Class Reunion scare you off!  We will take anyone who wants to attend right to the end!  Let me know if you need details!  Hope your Summer has been great!

08/12/24 11:33 AM #2570

David Frazer

Bob, I'm trying to slow down to make the summer last. Sitting on the deck and heard a strange sound a foot away from me. It was a good size hummingbird flapping the wings. Then cranes flew over the head, yelling something (Look out below?)..73 degrees low dewpoint... beautiful day! I do not remember a mid-August day so green. But the goodnews is, the sooner summer is over we can tease each other in person at the class reunion/picnic!
