Sorry Michael; only Oltman books and my wife Sue has the Park Jr. High books from her grades.

Mike, check with Tom Hines as I had made a photo board with pictures from various years from Park, Oltman....we gave them to Tom for our 55th year reunion.
I guess those who are snowmobiling and skiing enthusiasts got your wish for "one" more run . Enjoy it as long as you can, before it melts away.

Dave, thanks!  If you're bored, you could post pics of the cover and first few pages up through staff and faculty of 9th grade Oltman. And the 9th graders.

Michael, still working full-time; and moving slower than Molasses; or I could....

How is everyone enjoying this weather roller-coaster ride? 70 degrees then 40s then chance of snow, then back to 70s.while those down south are in A/C mode already.
Any interest in anybody getting together this summer? Let's see if we can!
In the meantime as always stay healthy and safe. Oh! And don't listen to Dave he is off his rocker! Ha! Because he is still working hard and dosen't have time to sit.

Bob, I do plan on cutting my hours. I have been saying that for three years. I'm looking forward to seeing you this summer!

Mike Wade (and Classmates) ... Your post about Junior High School Annuals (Yearbooks) got me thinking ... it would be great to see those again ... or for the first time if we did not buy one at the time.  Many of us enjoyed seeing the "time-machine" poster board at the 50th reunion.  I have searched my usual online sources (Internet Archive, Google Books, Ancestry.com, Classmates.com, etc) and marketplaces (ABEbooks, eBay, etsy, Amazon, etc.) but have not found any books from our schools and years of interest.

Park Junior High School ... Grades 7, 8 and 9 (1968-69, 1969-70, 1970-71)

Oltman Junior High School ... Grades 7, 8, and 9 (1968-69, 1969-1970, 1970-71)

Woodbury Junior High School ... Grade 9 (1970-1971)

If anybody has a "spare" junior high annual from the list above and wishes to loan or sell it to me ... I would be happy to scan it ... and figure out a way to post a PDF file on this class website.

I recently took some pictures of Oltman Junior High's 7th grade yearbook that Bernie Willhite has. I can contact him to see if he would consider helping out.
It would be great if it's possible to get copies posted on this site.

That sounds great!  Thanks Steve!

Good afternoon Steve and crew. What I have is the first year new Woodbury Jr high yearbook. It was the first year and our 9th grade for the class of 74.

My mistake Bernie , I'm thought I already had long hair in 9th grade and I didn't look at the cover of the yearbook. I sure that there are people that would love to see an online copy of the Woodbury yearbook.

We'll need to find out if we can find a way to post pictures of the pages of all relevant yearbooks.

More Thoughts On Junior High School Annuals ...

I propose that the site Webmaster create a tab called "Annuals" on the site Home Page... similar to the "Reunion Photos" tab.

Also ... the site Webmaster could create folders on the "Annuals" tab ... one for each of the Junior High School Annuals of interest ... Park (3 years), Oltman (3 years) and Woodbury (1 year).

Classmates with Annuals could click pics with a phone (or scan images with a scanner) of their Annuals and post the images to the appropriate folder on the "Annuals" tab.

The best image capture method is with a flat bed scanner ... I use one for my family history research.  Flat bed scanners are also available at some local public libraries for free use at the library.

Another image capture method is with an app on your mobile.  The best scanning app is VFlat Scan ... available for both iPhones and Android phones.  This app is designed for scanning books without hurting them ... and adjusts for things like pages that are not perfectly flat.  The app's basic functions are free ... premium functions require a subscription ($4 per month).

I am also happy to scan our Junior High School Annuals if someone has one to loan or a spare to sell.

Mark,

I just created a "Yearbook Photos" gallery, which is accessible on the Reunion Photos page, and  I made it accessible for classmates to upload photos into it.

"Each Classmate can create his or her own unique gallery within the master gallery. All photos uploaded by Classmates will be credited to them!"

Mark Jarvis, did you ever get ahold of Tom Hinz? He might have the 50th reunion photo boards that I put together for our 50th reunion. They had park, oltmann Woodbury and St. Thomas pictures that you could use. 7th,8t 9th grades and a 6th grade from Royal Oaks elementary. Im sure he would lend those to you fir placement on the website. He is coordinating our 55th reunion.

Robert Ayre.

Thank you very much for the suggestion to contact Tom Hinz about the wonderful poster boards that you put together for the 50th Reunion.

You listed a few yearbooks that I did not know about ...

Royal Oak Elementary School (6th Grade)..

Saint Thomas School in Saint Paul Park. (Per the church website, this elementary school (Grades 1 - 8) opened in September 1949, was rebuilt and reopened in 1967, and closed in June 1971).

I wonder if there are more elementary school yearbooks or private school yearbooks out there for our Park HIgh School classmates?

I am curious ... where did you find the original yearbooks to make the poster boards?

I am looking for the best quality yearbook sources for scanning and posting here.

If anybody wishes to sell / loan a yearbook for me to scan, please contact me via the Message Center private messaging tab on the left side of this class site under Member Functions.

Steve Hardy.

Is it possible to allow PDF files to be posted to the new Yearbook area on the Reunion Photos tab on this site?

I just now tried to upload a test PDF file there ... Saint Paul Park Junior High 1969-1970 (Partial) ... 4 MB size ... but it did not upload.

Thanks.

Mark,

I haven't found a way to upload PDFs into the gallery, but I wil also check the admin forums.

In the meantime, I changed your status to admin so you can explore the features of the site.

BTW, Jessica Aasved is also an admin. With her career experience in I.T., she may be able to give us some advice.  It may be that the pages can not be modified to accomodate PDFs.

Thank you Steve!

I will also research Class Creator's capabilities for uploading various file types.

Mark,

I uploaded part of Kora's 1969 - 1970 Oatman year book. I used  a jpeg file type and the upload was fair quick.  File size was 1.1 to 1.2 meg. I scan them at 300 dpi and the quality was okay.  Because the file are jpeg I was able to edit them in my photo software.  I redacted the notes that people wrote to Kora to protect the innocent.

Her year book was rather well written on and in rough shape.  I only scanned our classmates pictures to keep this project  manageable.  Sadly, this is the only Junior High book that we have. Let me know if you would like to add other pages.

John Cavanaugh and Classmates.

Thank you very much for posting photos from the 1969-1970 Oltman Junior High Yearbook on the Reunion Photos page.  I'm glad the upload process went smoothly.  The scans look great!

I created three folders on the Reunion Photos page for Yearbooks ... one folder each for Park Junior High, Oltman Junior High and Woodbury Junior High ... and rearranged the photos already posted to these folders.

We have classmate photos from two 1969-1970 Junior High School Yearbooks now ... our 8th grade ...

1969-1970 Oltman Junior High ... Scanned and Posted by John Cavanaugh

1969-1970 Park Junior High ... Scanned by Carl Kaproth (Thanks Carl!) and Posted by Mark Jarvis.

Yearbook Want List ...

1968-1969 Oltman Junior High ... our 7th grade

1968-1969 Park Junior High ... our 7th grade

1970-1971 Oltman Junior High ... our 9th grade

1970-1971 Park Junior High ... our 9th grade

1970-1971 Woodbury Junior High ... our 9th grade

Thanks!  ... and kudos to you too for setting up the structure for this feature on the class website ... and the many webmaster-y things you do to keep this site a wonderful place to reminisce and reflect.
