Thanks Steve H, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year also. About that prosperity thing, could you send Dave F a Porsche 911 with the performance package in silver? I think his wife wants a new ride... maybe throw a pair of those Ray-Ban sunglasses on the seat for her?

Merry Christmas Dave! 😁
And a very merry Christmas to all! 🎄

Steve,  Dave always used to sing to me that "Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz" song, so I'd better go with that request.

Steve (B), I like the way you think! Now you inspired Steve (H.) to finally pay me (a Mercedes) for being his friend all these years. He stopped paying me when he found out he could get much better friends free.

I'm just testing to see if I'm actually on the forum...

Steve C., are you having a great month? You are on the Forum for you're answer! yes

Hi Dave, everyone, I guess I am on the forum, not sure what the glitch was, but most certainly I'm probably the culprit, lol.  All is well here, I am saddened to learn about Jennifer Olson , she was such a kind soul.  I can't believe we are all Medicare or soon to be.  Most are retired or soon to be.  Were  did those years after 1974 go?    It seems like it went too fast.  I look forward to our reunion in 2024.

Wow! What a drive this morning with all the trees laden with snow. Beautiful! Steve, for some people I imagine seeing the loss of friends and classmates is depressing. I think it is healthy to be reminded of our loss; and, it is good to be reminded why we believe and know our faith is true. Merry Christ-mas everyone!

Hey! Anyone riding the Viking's bandwagon this year? Heart-attack specialists, they are. Hope everyone is enjoying the season! Blessings!

Those Vikings do make games interesting!  You don't dare walk away.  I bleed purple ... even here in Arizona.  You can take the girl out of MN, but you can't take MN out of the girl!  SKOL.

I confess I turned off the Viking game before halftime.. then happened to turn the radio on in the 4th quarter..

sure glad I recorded the game.. Anyone hear what Patrick Peterson told the offense,

"All we need is 5 touchdowns"... WOW!!! but it was fun to watch..

Thanks for the Christmas wishes! Ready for the New Year? Well, another week went bye and this time I was OK with the Vikings last second win, 61 yards and a new record. How are you? Steve, a lot of people turned off the Vikings. Some even left the stadium at the half time. When they began making the comeback, I thought it is all good. Not like the freezing weather. Anyone with some serious ice dams from the freezing rain over a week ago?

12/26/22 09:23 PM #2186

Steve Hardy

Dave,

No ice dams down here, but our furnace has been struggling to get any heat in here.  We have been waking up to 45 to 48 degree temps in the kitchen.  This is the coldest stretch here since 2010, the same year that Minnesota had one of the snowiest and average coldest winters.

Our furnace is working properly, but the electrician said that it is too low powered for this house.  Picture installing an engine and drive train from a Ford Pinto into an F350 pickup.  It's a bit lacking in horsepower.

Today, December 26, marks the 50 year anniversary since Dave Frazer and I took our driving tests and got our licenses.  My dad scheduled my test and Dave came along in hopes of getting an open appointment slot.  We both passed, which is pretty impressive for Dave, as he had never driven Dad's car before the test.  He also had fewer opportunities to practice at home as well.  50 years and we're still on the road!

Just adding an important element to Steve's story, parallel parking that day of licensing. We had to park in a few feet of snow. I just put it in park because I wasn't going to risk failing if the transmission engaged and I hit a cone. All points were deducted, but passed. New battery in my old Sienna van today! The cold killed my four year old battery. I love the cold winters, breaks up the week.

Yep, and in another 10 years we'll be still on the road, and maybe some sidewalks, bike paths, front lawns and ditches...
I hope I lose all sense of self-decency before I get that way, ðŸĪŠ
Happy New Year all! ðŸĨģ

Wait! You guys too a test? I bought y license fro Kmart they had a blue light special! How many got yelled at for having the radio and A/C on while on Park Highs practice parking lot?
Some of us are still on the road if we can find it under the snow. So anything goes lawns, sidewalks.... just don't follow Dave he likes to drive on lakes!
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and safe new year!

Bob, speaking of driving on lakes, a truck drove on the ice in Amery but only 100 feet and then walked four hundred yards to fish. My question, why drive 100 feet on the ice if it isn't safe enough to drive to your hole?  By the way, I have been looking all over the ice to find the hole I put in last year. The spot was a great fishing spot.laugh

Happy new year to everyone! I pray that all of you have a wonderful year and many more. I'm hoping to make a trip to Minnesota some time this summer. It has been a while since I have been home. Colorado is great, but MN will always be home. Bless you all!

Susan, how is your health? Still praying for you! Happy New Year everyone!

Live long and prosper 🖖
Dave, did you find that fish hole you drilled last season? ðŸĪ”

01/02/23 10:11 AM #2194

Robert Ayre

Dave this time of year is the only time you can feel saintly as you get to "walk" on water! And so are the fish if you catch a " Holy mackeral ". You should drill nine holes and play golf while you are out there! The only safe ice to me is in a glass.
Susan let me know when you come up here we'll get together for lunch and visit your parents at Guardian Angel's church.

Bob, I'm lucky to walk... much less on water. All the floors seem crooked (and they are). This piecemealed cabin is a trip to live in. The neighbor has been out plowing with an ATV on the river/flowage. Steve and Bob, Ice Fishing? I'm not able to even go to work tomorrow because of hacking. So, the upside is... the dogs and I are laying around.

Steve Hardy

Dave,

When lying down with the dogs, did you get up with flees?
