David Frazer

I waddled the Gandy Dancer 5K yesterday (my division had a 60, 63, and my age). I told that I once was a racer, then a runner, then a jogger, then a waddler, and now a shuffler. I can run with that. Then, three of the grandchildren (11, 9, 6) stayed over yesterday and went to Church with us today. What fun! We went to the Paw Patrol movied (yes, I did fall asleep for ten minutes). This morning I put on Christmas music for them so I can be that crazy, annoying grandpa. Then wore a Hawaiian shirt to Church to shake off the winter-Christmas blues. Isn't life great to play the old person card, especially, with the children?

Dave F, I can't play the old person card yet - I'm just a kid.
I can still be classified as a jogger, I'm down to half speed from when I was in my 30s, I could get faster maybe motavated by the help of an angry bear or a couger. I miss those days of being able to run like the wind but feel so blessed I can still do all the things I can still do.
~ Good health to us all. Cheers! ~

PS Dave: We should meet up at the Stower Trail Head right there in Amery, every Wedensday we sponcer a walking group at 9:00 AM, great new people to meet, and, you won't be the oldest one there.
Or we can make it some other time of your choosing.

Steve, thanks for the invite. I only work 3 days a week; 2 hour drive. Wednesday and Thursday is 11 hour days plus the drive. I'm wiped out often (i.e., Today I'm doing notes) and the leaves. How do you do it? You must be full of energy. laugh

Dave thank you very much for the birthday wish! Wishing all those with birthdays in November a very happy one!
Looking for some help in contacting our fellow classmates. If interested we can set up a time to get together and go over a list that Yvette has from our previous reunion.

Setting the clocks back threw me off this weekend. And for those retired it really doesn't matter. Following Dave's comments wishing everyone a fun and safe Thanksgiving. Enjoy your family time.

Steve Hardy

Dave,

There was a TZ episode about a guy who could trade places with people, so he paid $1000 per year to various young men to trade a year of their lives so he could become young enough to marry a woman he loved.  He also traded for the pleasant disposition of his would be father in law, leaving the old man bitter and vindictive.  You might want to check out that episode to see how he did it.  Spoiler alert:  It didn't end well for him.

Anybody out there??? I'm thinking about skating across the river, any takers? Not really. Anyone has plans to beat winter?

11/28/23 10:09 PM #2383

Steven Bilderback

Dave, I think you should go out and find those good ice fishing holes you drilled last year.

11/29/23 11:24 PM #2384

David Frazer

Are you kidding Steve? It took all day the year before to chop a hole big enough for my boat!

11/30/23 05:24 PM #2385

Steven Kaufhold

I've always found it difficult to go trolling in the winter

The only safe ice is in a glass! Besides fishing for "ice" must be tough to hook!
Dave I heard you were trying to ice fish on a hockey rink! I did see two coyotes walking on the ice across a pond the other day. Is anyone already finished Christmas shopping yet?

Dave time to move in doors for other fun activities like racquetball and pickleball. What are others doing?

Dave, You can try this and sve on your back.

A funny image dedicated to our friends staring at ice that needs to go, melt and vanish so we can get out on open water! Visit us at ODU Magazine for a bunch of news all day long - late ice fishing, bass fishing, and much more - http://www.odumagazine.com/

Good ones Guys! Warms my heart, thaws the cold to know you all have great suggestions for my well-being. Tom, I never thought of that.... where can I plug my extension cord? Bet you all just want a bite of the fish we catch! wink

12/02/23 08:48 AM #2390

Steven Bilderback

Dave, did you try plugging your blow dryer into a current bush? I doubt your back channel has enough current to run a blow dryer. wink

12/04/23 02:19 PM #2391

David Frazer

Steve, just curious. What is a back channel? I do have a few long extension cords.

12/04/23 10:19 PM #2392

Steven Bilderback

Dave, it's the narrow channel of water that you'll fall into if you don't stop walking where the grass line in your backyard ends. \‷ * Splash * "'/  laugh

David Frazer

Thanks Steve. I thought it might have hidden funny meaning. Rats. I always need laughter. Sue was practically given by good friends a pontoon boat in August. Come over next Spring, go for a ride or/and fishing. We didn't know when we bought this place how much the water ride would be.... all the way into Amery, about 675 acres of water, like being up north (if you need exercise, you can put your bike on the boat, I'll give you a ride back to our house, and give you a ride back home). Better hurry before we have to sell and move again, and again, and again. The flowage is known for big big muskies. The reason I am inviting is so I start looking forward to the end of winter. Last year was terrible.

12/05/23 07:12 PM #2394

Robert Ayre

Dave! Fine!don't invite anyone else on your pontoon saloon! See if we all care. Ha! I'm sure a lot of the snowbirds have already migrated to there warmer climates and rocking chairs!
Dave you should just buy a camper if your moving that much! Enjoy the new snowfall which should be melted by the end of the week.

12/07/23 09:35 AM #2395

David Frazer

Bob, I just need a few days warning you're coming. Of course, it would be ice fishing now. I do have ice fishing equipment, clam, and a heater. I think you may be too old to chop a hole big enouugh for the huge Muskie you will catch. Bring some cooking oil to put on, to make him slide through. wink
