Raymond George Berchtold, Jr, age 72, of Debary, Florida passed away on July 11, 2021. Raymond was born May 6, 1949 to his late parents, Raymond George Sr. and Esther (Kennard) Berchtold in Darby, Pennsylvania. Raymond graduated from NE High School in 1967. He was very active in sports, especially basketball and track. He was a retired electronic technician, Eagle Scout, Navy veteran during the “Vietnam era”, and enjoyed traveling around the United States and Canada. Raymond is survived by two brothers, Thomas Berchtold and Stephen Berchtold; and one niece, Erica Berchtold. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Arrangements entrusted to Deltona Memorial Funeral Home (Orange City, FL). Burial will be at Bay Pines Veterans Cemetery Monday August 16 at 11am.

So sad to see another classmate pass on. I can still see Ray in his Viking track uniform taking the baton in the relays and making jump shots from what would have been the three point line if we had one back then. Will miss you at the reunions, Ray.
