Alice was born in Scranton , PA on April 19, 1949. At age 7 Alice along with her family moved to St. Petersburg , FL. Alice attended Pinellas County schools and graduated from Northeast High School in 1967. Alice completed her RN Diploma Program from Catonsville Community College in Catonsville , MD. Alice has since worked in various areas of nursing, however preferred working in the mental health field. Her hope, optimism and enthusiasm showed in her everyday work life and became an inspiration to her clients as well as her fellow caregivers. She was their protector. Alice spent the last nine years at Mental Health Care, Inc. in Tampa , Fl. Alice and her "posse" incorporated fun, compassion and love in their caring for their clients.

Alice was preceded in death by "the love of my life" husband Chris Prejean.  Alice is survived by her brother Jim Long, Pinellas Park , sister Jean Miller-Gronski, Metter , GA niece Kelly Jarriel, Cobbtown , GA , nephew John Mears, Jr., Mt. Dora , FL , nephew, James Long, St. Petersburg, FL, grand niece, Stacy Yeomans, Swainsboro, GA, grand nephew, Weston Jarriel, Cobbtown, GA, great grand nephews Ethan Mears and Cole Mears, Mt. Dora, FL, Aunt Millie O'Hara, Clarks Summit, PA, and numerous cousins.
