Firefighter likely died of heart attack

, who died last week during training at the Florida State Fire College in Ocala, probably suffered a heart attack, a preliminary coroner's report says.

Winters' death, the first in the 40-year history of Fire College, will result in immediate improvements in the type of emergency aid available during training operations, said its chief administrator, Fred Stark.

Winters, 41, was in excellent physical shape, colleagues said. He collapsed on the stairs of a two-story building during a smoke rescue exercise Thursday.
