BLANCHE FLYNN passed away peacefully to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 after a long and courageous battle against heart disease. Blanche was born in Stamford on October 1, 1933. She was the second oldest of twelve children, born to the late Louis and Stella Bova (she is survived by her siblings, Louis Bova, Jr., Lorraine Enright, Joan Prince, Richard Bova, John Bova, Fred Bova, Audrey Hamblen, and Linda Bova; and predeceased by Gloria DePreta, Ronald Bova and David Bova). She was a loving wife to her departed husband, John Flynn Sr. and devoted mother to her three sons, John Flynn II (deceased) and his wife, Rose, Thomas Flynn, and his wife, Patti, and George Flynn (deceased). Her grandchildren were "the joy of her life" and she cherished every moment spent with them, Caroline Flynn-Cote (and her husband, John), Thomas Flynn Jr., Andrew Flynn, Sarah Elizabeth Flynn (deceased) and John Flynn III. She will also be forever remembered by her many sister and brothers-in-law, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her many dear and precious friends. Blanche worked at the Stamford Boys & Girls Club for more than 35 years and she had been a counselor, friend and mother figure to so many children in our Stamford community. She will be fondly remembered for investing her time and best efforts into these children, especially when they needed and required such care and compassion. Blanche was most happy when she was surrounded by those she loved, cooking, baking, vacationing and "enjoying life to its fullest." A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, Ct. Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. To leave a condolence visit www.lacerenzafuneralhome.com
