Arthur Walter Aubrey died peacefully on April 13, 2016 in Westport, Connecticut at the age of 82.
Walt was born April 30, 1933 in Stamford, Connecticut, son of Arthur & Francis (Prelle) Aubrey. He graduated from Stamford High in the class of 1951 and then served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He proudly served aboard the U.S.S. Ammen DD527, the U.S.S. Keppler DD765 and the U.S.S. Rooks during the Korean Conflict and was discharged from the U.S. Navy on April 29, 1955. He married May (Sharp) Aubrey on August 17, 1957 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia Canada. He graduated from Bryant College with a degree in Business Administration in 1959. He moved back to Stamford, Connecticut where he worked as a Purchasing Agent for General Electric.
Walt was preceded in death by his wife May. He is survived by his children Sandra Roe (Terry), Fred (Cheryl), Andrew, Gloria Inzitari (Joseph) & Robert (Jun); younger brother L. Edward Aubrey; 8 grandchildren; Fred, Eric, Tiffany, Eric, Krystle, Jenna, Megan & Kenny; 9 great-grandchildren and cherished nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents Arthur & Francis, brother in law Frank and sister in law Louise.
A wake will be held at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home located at 2900 Summer Street in Stamford, Connecticut on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 4-8p.m. Services will be at St. John's Episcopal Church located at 628 Main Street in Stamford, Connecticut on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 10a.m. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park located at 230 Oaklawn Ave in Stamford, Connecticut.
