DOMINICK V. AULENTI - Dominick Vincent Aulenti, a Darien resident since 1967, died at home on June 26th. A Stamford native, Mr. Aulenti was born February 24, 1933, son of the late Giuseppe and Maria Rosa Aulenti.

Mr. Aulenti was a 1951 graduate of Stamford High School. He served as a corporal in the United States Army Infantry. He joined the Darien Police Force in 1956, later became a Detective and retired as a Lieutenant in 1981. Mr. Aulenti then worked as Director of Security at Cytec in Stamford for 14 years.

Mr. Aulenti was an active member of the Darien Police Association, one of the original adult supervisors of Post 53 as well as a long standing member of the Darien Boat Club and enjoyed coaching Darien Little League and Babe Ruth baseball for many years.

Mr. Aulenti was predeceased by his wife Margaret Olak Aulenti in 1997 and is survived by his sons Thomas of Boylestown, PA; John of Darien and a daughter Sharon Knowles of Crownsville, MD. He was the proud grandfather to Eric of Holly Springs, NC; Ryan and Andrew of Darien; Madeline and Alison of Crownsville, MD. He is also survived by six siblings: John Aulenti of Seattle, WA; Filomena Aulenti of Tucson, AZ; Vito Aulenti of Stamford, Isabelle Broder of Houlton, ME; Rosalyn Arena of Stamford; and Angelo Aulenti of Port Charlotte, FL and was predeceased by three brothers Anthony, Michael and Joseph Aulenti as well as two sisters Mary Cernier and Lillian Avallone.
