John Francis Giglio, 81, passed on November 10, 2014. John was born January 8, 1933 in Stamford, CT. Son of Joseph and Mary Bitetto Giglio. In Stamford High School he met the love of his life, Carole Ann Svenningsen. John graduated high school, joined the Navy in 1951. In 1952 he married Carole. They had three children, Thomas John, Cathy Ellen (Hickey), Ann Marie (Romano), six grandchildren, Melissa Jane, Amy Leigh, Jason, Garrett, Alexander, and Jake. He is survived by two brothers, Joseph and Donald, and Carole, his wife of 62 years. He was predeceased by brother Robert & grandson Jake Romano. John had two brilliant careers. First – Clairol, Bristol Meyers Squib, retired after 25 years. In 1982 he started Custom Video, retired after 20 years. His passion was sports, baseball & football. He played and coached, Tiny League, Little League & Babe Ruth, with his son on each team. Sundays were spent with his family and team members having pasta at his home and watching sports on TV. After all that we retired to Saratoga Springs, NY. John became ill after two years there. He had a heart attack, prostate cancer, diabetes and kidney failure, all leading to hospice care. If you donate blood, please do so in John's name, he would say thank you. Many thanks to son-in-law Bob Piorkowski for his love and 24/7 care, to Dr. O'Connell for his concern, the hospice care of Karen, Mary, Karin and Brian. To all our friends, neighbors for all the cards and calls. Do for John what's in your hearts for he loved everyone. He was in fact "a good man".
