EDMUND BRUCE "POP-POP" HANSON, age 77, of Palm Beach Gardens passed away June 1st, 2010 under Hospice care. Born July 23rd, 1932 in Stamford, to the late Carl and Lillian Hanson, Bruce was a proud Navy veteran having served aboard the SS Wasp. He spent his entire career serving the community of Stamford as a Law Enforcement officer. Married September 22nd, 1956 to Constance(Pierro) Hanson the couple raised three children in Danbury, before retiring to the West Palm Beach area. He was a dedicated serviceman, husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Proceeded in death by his parents, Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Connie Hanson, daughter Jacqueline DeRoek-Garver and Mark Garver of Lake Worth, FL, son Bruce and Kim Hanson of West Palm Beach, FL, daughter Jill Hanson of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and grandchildren Lacey, Noelle, David, Jessica and Stephanie. A Celebration of Life will be held for Bruce at the Del Lago Chapel 131 S. Lakeside in Lake Worth on Friday June 4, 2010 from 2 until 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County in his memory.
