Ernest E. Iovanna, 84 of Trumbull, CT, passed from this world on January 21st due to natural causes surrounded by the warmth and love of his family.
Born in Stamford, CT on December 11, 1932 to parents Michael C. and Adele (Tenaglia) Iovanna, Ernie graduated from Stamford High School in 1951 and just a few months later enlisted in the United States Air Force serving his country from 1951-1955. After completing his military service, Ernie was employed at United Aircraft Corporation in Norwalk, CT and then went on to work for TRANSACT in Stamford, CT.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan (Mascaro) and his devoted son, John (Jack) Iovanna, of Stamford, CT, and leaves a host of nieces and nephews. Ernie is pre-deceased by his parents and brothers Dr. Nicholas Iovanna and Armando Iovanna and sisters Clara Iovanna and Rapheala "Raffie" Catino, all from Stamford, CT as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law Congetta and John Mascaro from Riverside, CT.
Calling hours and Funeral Service will take place at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 10:00a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Interment will be private.

Ernie's family would like to thank Caregiver's Home Solutions and Hospice (VIRTAS) for all their dedicated work.
