Robert F. Lupinacci, age 79, died February 14, 2013 at Norwalk Hospital. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Ronnalie "Lea" (Gonshreck) Lupinacci, stepchildren Meaghan Monahan, Kevin Monahan, Sarah (Monahan) Keller, Kate (Monahan) Fiola, eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his beloved daughter, Deborah Anne Lupinacci, his parents Charles and Guilia (Perillo) Lupinacci, brothers Joseph G, Charles A and Alfred Lupinacci, sisters Carolyn Cheries and Emma Marrucco. A native of Stamford, he was born on September 14, 1933, residing there until moving to Norwalk in 1985. He was a graduate of Stamford High School and J.M. Wright Technical School. Bob was an electrician, having worked for Stamford Hospital and retiring from IBEW.
Bob enjoyed travelling to agricultural fairs throughout the northeast with his wife, Lea. He was a member of the New England Ox Owners and Drivers Association, and the CT Draft Horse Association. He was also an avid volunteer. As a Mason and a Shriner, he drove children to their appointments at the Shriners Hospitals in Springfield and Boston. He also drove for FISH in Stamford, bringing the elderly to their medical appointments free of charge. One of Bob's favorite volunteer activities was working with his wife along with their many therapy dogs. He often brought his pet therapy dog, Trooper, to area nursing homes to cheer up local residents. Bob and Lea spent many years raising and showing Shetland Sheepdogs. They also volunteered as a foster home for Sheltie Rescue. Bob was also a long time, active member of Sons of Italy, Pietro Mica Lodge in Norwalk.
All services will be conducted in private. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to New England Sheltie Rescue, 274 Colburn Road, Canterbury, CT 06331.
