DOMENICK MACARI, age 76, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Friday, September 18, 2009 at Stamford Hospital. Domenick was born January 23, 1933 in Stamford. He was the son of the late Benedetto and Antonia (Buzzeo) Macari. Domenick was the owner of Macari's Meat Market on the West Side of Stamford. A one of a kind husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Domenick is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gail (Zwart) Macari; their six children, Joe Macari and his wife, Gina, Liz (Macari) Rainone and her husband, Joe, Donna (Macari) Leson, Tony Macari, Bobby Macari and Ricky Macari and his wife, Dayna; along with nine grandchildren, Kara and Jenna Macari, Lauren, Joseph and Thomas Rainone, Samantha, Jessica and Danielle Leson, and Michael Macari. He is survived by his siblings, Mary Corolla, Charles Macari, Lorenzo Macari, Dorothy Coletta, Phyillis Minkel, and Josephine Desgro and was predeceased by three brothers, Jerry, Joseph and Frank. Domenick was well known for his ability to captivate all with his engaging conversation and laughter which gained him the respect and love of many. He will be greatly missed. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009 at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Tuesday September 22, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien.
