REYNAUD, ANTHONY BATATU Anthony Batatu Reynaud, 80, of Davenport, Florida, formerly of Winchester, CT, passed on into eternal rest on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at home. He was born in Jaffa, Palestine in 1934, and was the son of Shukri Batatu and Yvonne (Nicodem) Reynaud. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Buyak) Reynaud, and his three daughters, Brenda Davis and her husband Robert, Cindy Fox, Mary Anne Sok and her husband Ron, two sons, Anthony J. Reynaud and his wife Suzanne, and John Reynaud and girlfriend Jessica MacClinchy; six grandchildren, Robert Davis and his wife Nancy, Christopher Riley, Austin Riley and his wife Marla, Shannon Riddick and her husband Charles, Michael Sok and Laura Sok; and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two nephews, Shukri Abdallah and his wife Hala, and Jamil Abdallah and his wife Mary. He also leaves 3 stepchildren, Richard, Christopher and Heather Buyak. He was predeceased by his first wife of 53 years, Bertha Reynaud, his brother Hanna (John) Batatu, and two sisters, Mary Abdallah and Julianna Reynaud. Tony moved to Stamford, CT at age 16. He joined the US Marine Corps. and served in the Korean War. Tony loved the movies and operated many theatres in Stamford and in New York City. In 1974, he and his first wife Bertha owned A&B Amusements, operating 16 movies theatres, including the Warner Theatre and Parkade Cinema in Torrington, and the Strand Theatre in Winsted. They later owned The Winsted Convenience Store and Value Mart in Torrington, retiring in 1999. Friends may call at St. Mary’s Church in Torrington, on Friday, October 3, from 9AM to 11AM. The Divine Liturgy of Resurrection will be celebrated immediately after calling hours, at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Winchester Cemetery.
