Frank A. Pironto age 79, beloved husband of 59 years to Rosalie DeSalvo Pironto of Norwalk, died peacefully on February 21, 2013 in Westchester Medical Center. Mr. Pironto was born June 25, 1933 in Stamford and was a son to Antonio Legato and the late Jennie Toreso Legato. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was a skilled Sheet Metal Journey Man with Union Local #38. Frank was a graduate of Stamford High School class of 1951 and known for being part of the Champion Football team. He was a loving family man and enjoyed traveling especially to Cape Cod. Survivors in addition to his loving wife Rosalie and father Antonio include two sons, Michael J. Pironto of Norwalk; Gary F. Pironto and his wife Darlene of Fairfield; a daughter Cheryl A. Pironto of Norwalk; two sisters, Mae Giancotti and her husband Nick of Norwalk; Pearl McNearney and her husband Bill of Redding; Three grandchildren, Michele and Sal Migliaccio and Eric Pironto as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Ricky, a sister Theresa Covey and mother, Jennie Legato. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday February 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Matthew Parish, 215 Scribner Ave. Norwalk. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date. Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street has been entrusted with arrangements.
