Obituary:
Gloria F. Donahue, age 79, of Westport passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Kelley in Norwalk on Sunday, June 9. She was the wife of the late John J. "Jack" Donahue. Gloria was born in Stamford on September 3, 1933, the daughter of the late Fortunato and Assunta Tripodi. She was a graduate of Stamford High School, Class of 1951 and the Stamford Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. Gloria served as a nurse in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and then worked for many years at St. Joseph Hospital in Stamford as a registered nurse. She loved to cook and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed travelling and listening to opera music and shared many fun times with "the girls".
Gloria is survived by her loving children; Kelley (Stephen) Hefferan and Lisa M. Leo, all of Norwalk, and John P. (Linda) Donahue of Medford, NJ, her cousin Theresa Cucco and husband Alberto, two sisters, Marie Keyes of FL and Dorothy Tripodi of MD, her five adoring grandchildren Nicole Donahue, Katie and Jack Hefferan , Lauren and John Vento, several nieces and nephews and several loving and supportive friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 12, 9:30 AM at St. Philip Church, 1 Fr. Conlon Pl., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Gloria's family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk TODAY (Tues.) from 4-8 PM. Donations in her name may be made to Peter t.
