BROOKFIELD—Brian Patterson, 69, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, after a brief illness.

He was born May 18, 1933 in Stamford, Conn.; the son of Edward S. and Marion (Morris) Patterson.

He attended Stamford schools and graduated from Stamford High School in 1951. Following his education, he served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

After his discharge from the service, he returned to Conn. where he worked as an auto mechanic for Karl Chevrolet in New Canaan. While working there he attended the General Motors Institute in Flint, Mich. He later was a mechanic for Connecticut Power and Light Co. in Norwalk, Conn. and then worked for the New Canaan, Conn. Texaco until his retirement.

He married Beatrice Crane in New York in 1957. He later married Sandra Harrigan in 1976. The Pattersons moved to Brookfield in 1979. She died in 1993.

He was a member of the Channel Hoppers CB Club. In earlier years, he enjoyed automobile racing. He owned and was the mechanic for a race car at the Danbury (Conn.) Race Arena.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen Westlake of Gilbert, Ariz. and Kathleen M. Bedard of Mesa, Ariz., and two granddaughters, Lisa M. Rudd and Katie L. Bedard, both of Ocoee, Fla.
