James Rabinowitz, an only child, was born in Stamford CT in 1934 to David and Goldie Rabinowitz. His father was the organist at Temple Beth El and also taught piano. Jim attended Stamford Schools and graduated from Stamford High School, a member of the Class of 1951. In High School, he was well known for being part of every class play, and the yearbook stated that he was "a silver-tongued orator." He represented Stamford High at CT Boy's State, and was always an honor student. After High School, he graduated from Amherst College and then from Yale Law School, Summa cum laude.  He was admitted to the Rhode Island Bar and practiced law in Providence for many years. At about the time of his admittance, he changed his name from Rabinowitz to Radin.  He married Eleanor Turoff, a first cousin of our classmate, Gil Lipton, and they had three children, Peter, who lives in Barrington, RI, Debra, who lives in Aptos, CA, and Michael, who lives in Nadick, MA. He also had three grandchildren, Sara, Sam and Chasen. Jim died in 1979 at the age of 45. Prior to his death, he was divorced from Eleanor who remarrried William Hillman, a federal bankrupcy judge. Both Eleanor and William died in 2021.
