Helpful notes added by classmate George Hoyt: Our classmate Jill Staiger lived in High Ridge near the Wire Mill Road area. I have been unable to find her marriage information, but somewhere along the way she became a Mrs Abrams. The Florida Death Index provided more information than the Social Security Death Index does, so I used it instead.
Jill's father, Joseph Staiger, was involved with the Stamford School System. I remember in the summer months during the mid-1940s when he was involved with the Day Camp Site at Dorothy Heroy Park off High Ridge Road near the New York State line. The City of Stamford provided a bus to take us there for a day-long event a few times during some of the summer months. Mr. Staiger took us on tour through some of the wooded areas. We played softball and many different games.......Pleasant memories....
