Obituary of Novart Mary Casparian

Novart Mary Casparian, a fifty-six year resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie and formerly of Stamford, Connecticut, entered into rest Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. She was 79. Daughter of the late Zakar and Mariam Najarian, she was born June 5, 1933 in Stamford, Connecticut. On August 10, 1957 in Stamford she married Casper Casparian. Mr. Casparian preceded her in death on March 28, 2006. Prior to her retirement in 1999 Novart worked in the accounting department of Sears in Poughkeepsie for twenty years. After her retirement, she volunteered at Second Hand Rose. She was a member of the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Friendship Circle and the Wesley Circle. She is survived by her son, Mark Casparian and his wife, Diana and their son Tommy of Miami, Florida; her daughter, Diane Garrahan and her husband, Gary and their children, Steven, Valerie, and Brian of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her daughter, Linda Romano and her husband Nick and their children, Stephanie and Michael of Old Greenwich, Connecticut; her brother, John Najarian of Trumbull, Connecticut; her sister-in-law, Armenoosh Shahbazian of Poughkeepsie; brother-in-law Aram Casparian of Cornwall-on-Hudson and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church, 2381 New Hackensack Road, Poughkeepsie. A funeral service will follow at 12 noon. Interment will then follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
