Rosemary was born in Stamford on May 23, 1933, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (DeSalvo) Pavia. She raised her six children in Norwalk, and worked as a teacher's aide at Columbus Magnet School to support them when her husband passed. She was one of the kindest, sweetest women you'd ever want to know and had a fantastic sense of humor and an infectious giggle which still resonates in her children's ears.

Rosemary lived for her six children, Lori A. Grasso, of Sunrise, Fla., Anthony J. Grasso and his wife, Celeste, of Wallingford, Marianne Kensek and her husband, Alan, of Danbury, Bob Grasso and his wife, Maureen, of Wallingford, Lisa Crick and her husband, Mike, of Middlebury, and John Grasso, of Norwalk.

She was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, whom she adored.

Rosemary is also survived by her brother, John Pavia, of Greenwich; her sister, June Ruggiero, of Sandy Hook; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. directly at Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford. Interment will be private at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to The Sisters' Project, P.O. Box 1643, Wallingford, CT 06492.
