
Marion P. Baker, 63, of Streator, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at her residence.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Streator. Monsignor John Prendergast of St. Michael the Archangel Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Mehalic Jr., Michael Mance, Brad Bandura, Ben Baker, Brian Hoffymeyer, Erich Baker, Melissa Walden, Tim Coley, Bill Coley Jr., Vickie Gehm, Brian Coley, Julie Cole, Sean Meuser and Jenna Ririe.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Elias Funeral Home in Streator with a vigil service at 4 p.m.
Born June 14, 1947, in Streator, she was the daughter of James and Faye (Travers) Coley. She married Thomas Baker on Nov. 26, 1966. He survives.
Also surviving are sons, Todd (Jodie) Baker and Greg (Heather) Baker, both of Streator; daughter, Jodee (Jeff) Lee of Braceville, Ill.; grandchildren, Blake, Regan, Chloe, Max and Quinn Baker and Devin and Lucas Lee; brothers, Bill Coley of Lowell, Ohio, and Al (Noriko) Coley of Streator; sisters, Linda Trapp of Streator, Chris (John) Meuser of Princeville, Ill., and Sheila (Todd) Ririe of Chino Hills, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Baker in 1986; brothers, Joseph and Kenneth John Coley; sisters-in-law, Peg, Judy and Mary Kaye Coley; and brother-in-law, William Trapp.
She worked at Mr. John's Dry Cleaning in Streator for 17 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Streator and was involved with St. Mary's Grade School Parents and Booster clubs.
She went to Greeley Grade School and graduated from Streator Township High School in 1966.
Marion was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She fought courageously for over a year with her battle with cancer.
She loved attending all her grandchildren's events and was devoted to her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
