STREATOR — Carl McClenning, 64, of Streator, went to rest with Jesus Christ after all of his hard work in life on Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Ottawa Pavilion in Ottawa.

Funeral services for Carl McClenning will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Church of the Open Bible in Streator. The Rev. Bill Niebuhr will officiate and also conduct graveside services at Long Point Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be members of his family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Elias Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Carl was born April 1, 1947, in Streator, to Basil and Edna (Benton) McClenning, he was born at home and was the 10th of 11 children. He married Mary Ann Blakemore in 1968.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Streator; siblings, Sybil Stewart of Mesa, Ariz., Lloyd McClenning of Streator, Floyd "Mack" McClenning of Granville, Dorothy Tealbey of Toluca, Henry "Hank" McClenning of Tonica, Roy McClenning of Round Lake, Samantha Bailey of Streator, Mary McClenning of Tonica and Linda Scalf of Danvers. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sylvia Webber.

After graduating from high school, Carl helped his dad's farm, then went to DeVry in Chicago. In 1967, he went to work for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and he and Mary Ann lived in Iowa for 10 years. In 1980, they moved back to Long Point and got back to farming. In 1984, he became interested in machining and opened C & M Enterprises in Long Point.

He was a member of the Church of the Open Bible in Streator.
