Jason
I am glad you are satying in here with us. You are comfortable enough in your manhood that you can hang with us girls and talk food...right?
I would love to come to your house and see what you do. That is awesome that you are the main cook. Do you cook every night?

Teresa
I knew that was your ploy to get Traci fired up. Where in the heck is she? She's laid up in her bed with her dogs watching Golden Girls.

Dont worry Teresa. Political issues always get people fired up, everyone has a different opinion. My oldest son is just glad that Hillary didn't make it because he did not want to go to school 12 months out of the year.Poor kids, school is a little tougher on them than it was on us. Just think if our parents could have checked our grades on the computor. We would have really been in trouble.

Beth. I cook a lot of food on the grill. Steak, chicken, pork chops,Deer, duck, I do it all on the grill. We mostly eat on the run because of our kids activities, so I dont get to cook as much as I would like. My kids eat like I do, meat, potatoes, lots of snacks. I know that is not very healthy but I cannot eat any of that nasty diet food. My little boys are so skinny they need to eat more.

Ok, I am back....

Beth- I am ready to see those pics of all of us...I think..?

Teresa- You hit it on the head with Barack Obama. Although I feel the same as he does with many of the issues presenting themselves at this time, I have to say that we should all be realistic too. He has no experience, went to an extremist church, and is talking about pulling our troops out too soon.

At the same time, I do believe that Senator McCain's Presidency is destined to be 4 more years of George Bush's regime. Subsidies for oil companies, incredibly low taxes for the upper class....it goes on and on.

The question is...who is the best of these two? Obama talks a great game, right? Kinda like Slick Willy Clinton? That's why I believe he is going to win...this guy is like a rock star. One thing we should all be doing...praying for God's blessing on our country.

Now...Holt, I had to come to your rescue. Where is everyone?

Saranie...I am so happy for you man. I wish you and Laura the best. Tell her I said congratulations. I will be in Stuttgart Friday...I may drop by. Are you going to be around? Let me know.

Tricia- Where are you off to THIS week? I have never seen anyone go as much as you!

Shevonya- Girl I would love to hear more about your trip, it was so interesting reading your message. Post more pics?

I am off for a few days traveling out of state, so you guys pray for safe travel for me!

Oh, and Kenny Hill, ease up buddy! These girls didn't mean anything. Email me if you get this, my email is RMS.Scott@sbcglobal.net.

Talk to you all later!

Ok Teresa....I am coming over on Friday and beating your CAPS button with a sledge hammer.....JEEZ

Hey Ya'll just got on before bed and I'm so cracking up!!! Teresa I still have that campbells cookbook and I NEVER use it. The one from the book fair!! ha ha I just use the one from the youth group! LOL It's 2am and what am I still doing up???? not cooking at this hour!! Didn't have time to read everyone's messages, but will tomorrow.

Saranie~ saw you mowing the grass @ Jr High on the way to Booster Club Meeting. Why were you not attending the meeting???? Ya'll have a boy that plays ball. Next meeting 1st tuesday in September. You better be there.

Jil~ Samantha will be there for either 2 or 3 weeks next year as a counselor. She loved it that much. I'm glad that Bailey loved it that much. They Stuttgart crew usually goes either week 5 or 6. I always cry at the closing ceremony. This year I was just wondering if any child would go up to Samantha and hug her and she had a long line of little kids that wanted to say bye to her. I felt so great that kids loved her as a counselor.

Got to go to bed. I will chat tomorrow.

Teresa~ is Kenny or Traci in the house??? ha ha I'm just being FUNNY! We all have you back come HOMECOMING!!!

Scott- I am staying at home for a while until an opportunity presents itself. I think Darren gets annoyed with me wanting to be gone all the time! He had a melt down in Sunday School while I was gone for 11 days to Italy. He told them that if I die before him he would be looking for a wife at my funeral. So look out all you single women! No really he is great about letting me go when I have the chance. I can't wait for my kids to be old enough to travel like that. Actually they are great travelers, I think they could probably handle it now. Oh yeah and the last thing this country needs is a rock star for president! We need another George Washington to straighten us out!!!!

Teresa- I was thinking about the time I came by your house and found big clumps of margarine on the dining room wall. Everyone beware if Teresa gets mad at you she throws butter! Stop worrying about making someone mad. You didn't say anything offensive. Everyone has their own opinion about who they want to vote for. I just want to say to everyone to be sure and get out there and vote or you can't complain and definitely be prayerful for all world leaders and this nation. God has blessed the USA for many years but if we keep pulling away from Him as a nation I worry what might happen. History has proven that God brings countries into power and takes them down as well. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.

You have to have a scanner. If you have a printer at home it might have a scanning thing on it. I bet they have one at your school that you could scan and email them to yourself.

I don't know about any of ya'll but I am going to start eating better and working out as soon as school is back in session. I have a little over a year to get back in shape before you people see me!! How many of you look back at old pictures and think "I thought I was big then"? My goal weight keeps going up on the scale!Ha Ha

No really most people think I am "skinny" but I hide it well being 6 feet tall. I still need to get back into shape. I don't know about any of you but after age 30 I started noticing how my skin has changed. Flabby arms that shake, wrinkles, age spots. Yuk!! Amy and I laugh all the time when we swim out here at the house (in the country, I live in Joey Hopson's grandma's house) and truck drivers honk at us. She said if they could see us up close they wouldn't be honking! LOL! So please bring on the recipes for better eating! I say this as I am eating cheetos and chocolate.

Tricia~ I am right there with you! I have been dieting for about 2 months now. I have been going really slow. I have been eating those lean cuisine because my husband wont eat diet food. I am about sick of eating them though so I need some more ideas.

Good evening guys and gals. How is everyone? Anyone cook a nice meal tonight? Whats up robnett. Good to see you back on here. Typical day here, another hot ass day at work. My 2 boys have been fighting all the time so I grounded their little buts. I am making them sleep together for a while and work together in the yard. They cant play outside or anything so they are bored to death. I have noticed most people are against Obama. It is a tough decision for President, especially when neither one of the candidates are worth a crap. It will be a tough decision no doubt.

05/08/08 09:54 PM #597

Tricia Orlicek (Brown)

Jason- It will be a tough decision but I hope that does not deter people from voting just because they don't like either of them. You should definitely vote for the lesser of the two evils! We have to vote to keep the one we know we don't want out of office which ever that person is for you. Oh, about the meal, Darren cooked deer steak tonight. Yummy! And I made green bean bundles.

Where is everyone today?

06/08/08 04:01 PM #600

Lauren Hartz (Clark)

Hey Tricia- Trying to get Grace ready to go to Orlando with a friend, get a computer fixed, pay bills, change insurance companies for all our busniess stuff, fold clothes, do dishes, start thinking about dinner...the real world stinks! I thought summers were suppose to be fun! What is anyone making for dinner tonight? need ideas... it is so hot, the thought of cooking makes me ill!

06/08/08 04:13 PM #601

Tricia Orlicek (Brown)

Lauren- I am making chicken and rice casserole. Very simple! 1 cup rice cooked, 1 1/2 cup veggies cooked (I use the frozen vegetable combo that is like Veg-All), 2 cups cooked and chopped chicken, 1 can cream of chicken, 1/2 can of Pet milk, shredded cheddar cheese. Mix the soup and milk together and stir into other ingredients. Salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. My kids will even eat the vegetables this way!

Hey everybody
I have been so busy these last few days and have not been able to talk. I'll fill you in later...
Here is another recipe that I want ya'll to try....

1 small butternut squash, peeled, seeded, and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 large sweet potato, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
2 Tbsp butter, melted
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
1 Tbsp fresh thyme
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
1 (6-oz) package fresh baby spinach

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
2. Toss together first 8 ingredients in a large bowl until vegetables are
evenly coated. Spread in a single layer in a jellyroll pan or 2 (13 x 9
inch)baking dishes.
3. Roast, stirring once halfway through cook time, at 450 degrees for 30
minutes or until edges of vegetables are light brown and tender when pierced
with the tip of a knife.
4. Remove pan from oven. Add spinach to pan; toss gently with vegetable
mixture until spinach is slightly wilted. Garnish, if desired, with freshly
ground pepper and serve warm or at room temp.

Makes 6 (1-cup) servings. I have made it with just sweet potatoes when I
didn't have any squash. It is still delicious! Enjoy!
