THANKS! Both sound great! To add to my everyday question of what to cook for dinner, I cannot use Olive Oil, Garlic or Nuts of any kind....DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY RECIPES HAVE OLIVE OIL AND GARLIC IN THEM!!!!!!

06/08/08 06:29 PM #604

Carolyn Tanksley (Wall)

We are having grilled chicken and grilled potatoes.

1) Make a packet out of foil and add
2) Thinly sliced potatoes
3) Chopped onions
4) Sprinkle the potatoes with onion salt, garlic salt, season salt and parsley flakes.
5) Dot with butter
6) Seal the packet and place with indirect heat on the grill for 45 minutes.

I cook on the grill all the time to save from having to clean up the stove. I have a smooth top and it never fails, I make a huge mess.

I ended up with a flank steak on the grill, mexican cheese rice and tomato, cucumber, cilantro salad. I cut up the steak for the kids and made it into quesadillas with cheese and onions on my GEORGE FORMAN GRILL!!!! ha ha I laugh every time I tell someone that I used it, but that thing really is GREAT! I make all kinds of things on it!

Here yall go talking food again. Lori made some chicken and cheese enchiladas, and now I'm following it up with a good old Jim Beam and coke.

Jason
I love jim beam and coke. I remember I would drink it on the lake. Can you imagine? I was out on the boat mixing a drink....crazy. I never drink that anymore...if I drink I'll have red wine or a margarita.....UNTIL this past Friday night. Roddy and I went out with some friends (we stayed out until 2AM!!!!!, which I can't remember the last time I stayed OUT that late...I may stay UP that late but not OUT)and I had Jim Beam and coke..it was so good. Roddy and our friends were laughing at me, but I didn't care. I downed two glasses and then I wanted to smoke!! I haven't smoked in over 10 years..needless to say, I didn't, Roddy told me to settle down. Anyway, I had fun! That drink brought back so many memories.

I love seeing all the food ideas. It helps me come up with something for our dinner. Sorry Teresa and Jason. Tell Bruce I expect him to eat a butternut squash tomorrow.

Where is everyone at today?

08/08/08 01:01 PM #609

Lauren Hartz (Clark)

Things seem to be pretty quite these days! Where is everyone? Summer is winding down and I am sure everyone is busy getting ready to head back to school! YEAH!

There are still lots of missing classmates out there that we need to find. I want everyone to try and make contact with one person off the missing classmates list in the next week and get them to log on! Just one! You can surely handle that.

New question for everyone to answer....Class of 88 recently did this and it was quite funny and yes that does mean that I am coping! Who cares!

WHAT IS YOUR FULL (and I mean entire) NAME?

Lauren Griffin Hartz Clark

Hey
Did I offend anyone with my Jim Beam and smoking story? Ha
No one has posted really since then. Jason, next time I want to confess all my drinking stories, I'll just email you!! Ha ha

I have been so busy. Getting ready for school, having a birhtday party, going to kindegarten socials and FOOTBALL!! Football is taking over our lives. We have football practice every night from 6-8. Can I just tell you though....I love every minute of it. There is nothing I would rather be doing than watching my Jack out there learning how to play football. I know I've shared Jack's story in my profile, but he is such a walking miracle. He was not supposed to be walking or talking. He should be confined to a wheelchair! My baby is now not only going to kindegarten, but playing football. I sit there on the sidelines with tears in my eyes thanking God for what he has done for us. Jack looks over at me and gives me a thumbs up with this huge smile on his face and I am overwhelmed with the sweet little miracle I have as a son. I just wanted you all to know how thankful, blessed and PROUD of this little guy I am. All of our kids are sweet little gifts that God gave us....go hug them right now.

Oh, my name is
Anne Elizabeth Carter Dawson

Okay, Lauren, I took you seriously on your challenge to find one person and invite them to this website. I invited 16. I compared the list of "missing classmates" with the people who are signed up on www.classmates.com. Anyone on classmates.com, but not on this website got an email.
I sent an email to the following ~
Scott Baskins
Sheryl Collier
Dekinia Hansell
Anthony Herring
Randy Horton
Bradley Kirkman
Jackie Lumpkin
David Madar
Melissa McGraw
Stacy Meriman
Mischelle Minter
Chundra Montgomery
Steven Phillips
Albert Siems
Tracy Thompson
Carla Woffard

Now...let's see if any of them read their emails and sign up. If any of you actually know where these people are, you might contact them...just to prod them along.

And my entire name is ~ Lori Kay Neighbors North

Jason- I knew I would get a good laugh out of your response! :)

Lori- Good job! Hopefully if we keep bugging these people, they will sign up so we will leave them alone!

Beth- Hug that little football player for me! I cannot wait until Henry gets to start playing!

Grace went to FL this morning with a friend...things are kind of quiet around here-oh, here comes Henry, never mind! "I want to watch Carilla Di Vil!!!!" got to go

Price Dooley (Dooley)

I have been looking at the forum and reading everyone's responses on a variety of topics. First, let me say that it is great to see how dynamic the topics are and reading through the forum reminds me of how much I miss each one of you. Carolyn, the recipe for grilled chicken and potatoes sounds good. I'm letting you know right now I going to go ahead and use it. I'm not much of a cook but I can grill my butt off.

Scott, brought up the topic of Barack Obama and John Mccain a few days ago. Experience in my view is not an issue. One has too much and the other has too little, to me that's a wash...there are negatives and positives that one can cite in each instance. Here is the deal...if your family income is $150,000 or more then you should vote for Mccain, if its less than that then the rationale choice would be to vote for Obama. If you favor an unlimited timetable and $10 billion with a B being spent in Iraq each month then you should vote for Mccain otherwise, Obama. If you favor some type of healthcare reform, at minimum for your children or your parents then you should vote for Obama, otherwise Mccain. If you feel that corporations always have your best interests at heart and that markets can solve all our problems vote for Mccain, otherwise Obama. If you believe that abortion is wrong then vote for Mccain, otherwise Obama. We could do this all day. I study this for a living. But let me say this, each of these candidates are both Christian, decent people who just happen to have differing perspectives on how to solve the problems that our nation faces. Obama believes for the most part that government, as an embodiment of us all, should play a role in solving societal problems. Mccain, believes that government too often is the problem and that the private sector will solve societal problems. In my view they are both right and both wrong. Regardless, make sure each of your exercise your liberty and vote in November.

God Bless you all.

Price

Price~ I'm in trouble. I tied with the issues you brought up the candidates. haha.. We need to know that whoever we vote for has GOD in EVERY decision that they make.

Tricia Orlicek (Brown)

Hey Price it is good to see you on the forum. I was thinking maybe you need to run for President. "Help me help you". You are right though. It is our duty as Americans to get out and vote!! We take so many freedoms for granted in this country! Thanks for updating us on the candidates. I try to keep up with them but sometimes it is hard to know where they stand. Sometimes I feel like any person running for any office talk the talk but do they walk the walk? All I can do is ask God to guide me in my decisions. Whichever one is elected we should lift up in prayer no matter whether we "like" them or not, and we definitely need to keep this nation in our prayers!!

Hi everybody,

I will be in Stuttgart Wednesday evening-Saturday or Sunday. My Uncle Bob (some of you may have known him from the Country Club years ago-he ran the pro shop and taught alot of us golf lessons) passed away in June and we are having family time to remember him this next week. It would be great to see and meet whoever is available on Friday for lunch. Let me know.

Shannon

I didn't understand what you all were talking about with some people's sites being blocked, but now I get it. I know you have to log in, but my question is ~ why can't we log in on the 1988 site and see their profiles?

What are they trying to hide? Are they in the CIA, FBI, Secret Service???
