Scott Robnett

Hannah, call me that week to remind me! I will put it on our calendar, but as you know, things get crazy. My cell is 501-358-8877. Can you tell me what is going to happen when we go in early? Rhonda was asking me, and, being the male that I am (that hears, but doesn't LISTEN), I didn't pay attention. Thanks again for this!

Ok everyone...I am off for a few days on business. Take care!

David Chastain

Hey guys, thanks for your prayers.

Scott I will be praying for your Mother. I am so glad you found Jesus. You now know what a difference he can make in your life. I don't think there is any way I could make it through life without him.

Holt, I will keep you updated. Hopefully I won't be at Ft. Polk to long and I will get to come home. I'm so ready to be home with my family. I kind of miss my real job too, ready to go back to work.

Again, thanks for the prayers guys and I will certainly be praying for each and every one of you. Thank you for your support while I've been deployed.

I"m going to behave now on here and "grow-up"! Sorry for any remarks I made this past weekend. My mouth gets my in trouble all the time and I will behave for now on. If anyone doesn't know what went on.. then that is good and just disregard this message. BUT if you did read it then AGAIN.. I'M SORRY!!!

David .. take care of yourself. I will keep you in my prayers. Thanks for all you do serving our country!!!!

Robert Rawls- Where r u? It was good to hear from you on here.

Ashley Crosby (Adams)

Okay good morning guys...I can't sleep and have not been on in ages. My computer was down and then I am just so busy(as we all are). I have tried to catch up on everyone. Shelly I am sooooo sorry for your tragedy. Wow I will stop and pray for you and everyone. I can't imagine all the pain. I hope you are feeling God's presence!!

Scott-Not sure on all the details of what occurred online, but I do know that we are all a New Creation in Christ and all our old ways and nature are transformed by Christ...although we fall short of that daily, we get up with a new heart and desire to grow and change in Christ and forgiveness plays a huge part.....and I guess some forgiveness must have taken place in the forum.... So way to go class of 89.

Did Robert Rawls get online?? I did not see his post. Robert if you are out there I would love to hear from you and sorry that I missed your post and hope to see you at the reunion. (I was asking about you way back on the forum, so great to hear from you.)

Carolyn did you get to go to that Bible study w/ Krystal?? Let me know what you thought.

Ann-Glad you found you a church fit!!

Everyone I tried to catch up on where I left off, but it was a lot of posts, so sorry if I missed commenting on something that was important to someone.

We were like, oh, no, our big thing we were doing!!! haha! but it was exciting.

Hannah Hancock (Maier)

Hello Everyone! I was on the phone this morning with the cheer coach and all the sudden she said "there's been a wreck" Well it wasn't 2 seconds and Samantha was calling me CRYING and said "Mom I just had a wreck". Cache and I hurried to the school and not just 1 car, but 4 cars in the accident. Thank the lord not one girl was hurt. Cars can be fixed is all we kept saying to the girls. car #4 ~totaled, car #3 (Samantha)front & back bumpers and some kind of re-bars that messed up the ac and some other stuff~ not good, but fixable, car #2 front & back bumper and car #1 just a back bumper!

Jil~ I hope we have a GREAT turn-out!! This town has donated great stuff for us to give away during the pep rally. We even got a RNT Duck call engraved with Ricebirds and the mascot to give channel 7. The kids are excited. Did ya'lls football players come out for the pep rally? Our coach just told the boys today that they didn't have to come. We are not happpy about that.

Do ya'll remember Amberlea Hanson Barnes? Well she married Todd Barnes and they just ahad a baby boy, Beau Hanson Barnes, on monday. He was 7 1/2 lbs and 20 1/2 in long. Just thought I'd share that with the ones that remembered her from Church (1st United Methodist). She is 8 years younger thatn us. WOW I felt old saying that!!

Scott~ I will find out exactly what will happen then let you know.

Going to bed.
Talk to ya'll later.

Hannah Hancock (Maier)

Before I go to bed I have a couple of questions::::

1.) What was your favorite TV show in High School?
2.) favorite movie?

18/09/08 08:48 AM #812

Jil Bailey (Amaden)

Hannah, yes, i remember, we thought it was strange, but our coach did the same thing. He told our players not to come because it was too early and he didn't want them to be tired for the game. I think some of ours, maybe the seniors, came anyway, because it happened to be our Homecoming day and i remember Julie Inman was homecoming queen and they talked to her along with maybe a player. The seniors don't have to be at school that day anyway, so i think they told the coach they could go home and sleep. But i know our Senior cheer, Jr. cheer, band, and dance team were there and performed.

And the question, favorite movie and tv show. it's weird, i remember all my favorite stuff from jr. high , but it doesn't stick out for highschool. guess i was always going and doing once i started driving!! jr. high my favorite movie was footloose. i THINK my favorite tv show was Knots Landing, maybe that was highschool, don't know, just know i LOVOOOED that show!!

ok, WHat is everyone's favorite tv show and movie NOW?

Whats up class of 89. Getting ready for football this weekend. Sawyer plays saturday morning. Dalton plays his first 7th grade football game as a Bryant Hornet Monday night. He is pumped up. Hope everyone is doing well.

18/09/08 10:14 PM #815

Scott Robnett

Jason- Email me Dalton's schedule, I would love to come see him play. Maybe we could get Otis Hogan to meet us there? I can't make it Monday...will be out of town.

I honestly don't remember what show I watched in high school. Probably whatever Jason's Mom had on TV, since I was ALWAYS staying there.

Hey everyone, I have to share what happened with my mom yesterday.... I was on my way to catch a flight yesterday, September 17th, and I got a call from my sister, who was at the hospital with my mom. I answered, and it was my mother, who was TALKING! For those of you that don't know, my mother is in a nursing home, and can't walk, talk (only the 5th time in 8 1/2 years), or do anything for herself. Imagine my reaction, when I have not heard her voice since March of this year, and before that over a year and a half. I can't tell you how shocked I was.

I immediately called my wife and asked her to call them so my children could hear her and talk to her. What an incredible feeling it gave me to know my children could talk to her. They held a pretty nice conversation, but I think my mother didn't really understand that she really has grandkids, as her mind seemed to be stuck back in the late 80's, because she kept saying she was 38! She was hilarious....and I really hate that I missed it. I pray she is talking tomorrow too, as I just got back in town tonight. Please pray for her!

Sorry to ramble, but this is a miracle from God, plain and simple, and should be shared!

Scott. I believe Dalton will be playing in Conway. I will check the schedule and let you know. That is awsome about your mom. Truly an act of God.

18/09/08 11:01 PM #817

Hannah Hancock (Maier)

Scott~ How AMAZING! This gave me chills. I heard about when she talked in March. Bonnie sent out an e-mail and someone had sent it to me. I will never forget when Candace was getting married and all the girls came to my moms house to swim. Metta brought your mom to the house to swim. She went and picked her up from the nursing home and put a swimsuit on her and put her on a raft and they swam for a few hours. I was amazed then. Your mother is a special person and she may not talk everyday or walk, but with all our prayers she is able to talk on certain days. I bet your kids were excited to talk with her. I'm glad you shared this with us!! Please keep us posted.
Off the subject~ Which sisters are going to eat with us? I told Samantha and she was so excited and wanted to know which sisters? Candace Bauman Davis use to babysit her and when she couldn't she would get one of the twins or another friend to take her place. Samantha loves Halle and Metta. Let me know so I can tell her.

I talked with Kerry Kizzire, David's sister, and she said that David is doing better. I think she said he is in Louisiana. Don't quote me on that she had a car load of 12 year old girls talking in the back ground! She said she would let me know if he gets to come home for treatment.

Come on everyone ~ answer the questions!!! I'll post another one later!

Got to go to bed.

Beth Carter (Dawson)

Hey, I haven't been on in awhile, I miss this forum when I don't check it everyday.

Scott, I am so excited for your kids to get to hear your moms voice!! That is so awesome. Your mom was always so funny when we were in high school. I LOVED talking to her. I can definetly remember the sound of her voice. You know what I remember about her....she loved mexican food. Her favorite place was that restaurant in Little Rock...was it Mexico Chiquito? I know the spelling is wrong.
I did not realize that your sisters lived here in Memphis. I think I would cry if I saw them. All three of them were so precious when we were growing up.

I think I have said that Jack is playing flag football. I also think I have told y'all how much I LOVE watching them. Well, this past Wednesday night we played the number one team. I wanted to beat them so bad that I could not sleep the night before. I mean, seriously, this is 5-7 year olds we are talking about here...what will I do when he is in high school. Anyway, I will try to make this short, but I want to tell you guys what happened, because I still don't know what to think. In the first 5 minutes of the game, one of our coaches was EJECTED because of a call that he did not agree with and apparently he threw his hat down. From there it just went down hill. Most of the parents on our side were getting very upset b/c of the calling and this one man who is the grandfather of our best player kept talking to the ref's from the sidelines correcting them on their calling. Finally they gave us a technical and told this grandfather he was ejected from the game and he needed to leave. He would NOT leave!! They gave us another 15 yard technical and told him to leave NOW!!! He started to walk away, but kept talking the entire time he was leaving, so they said GAME OVER!! The game was forfitted (spelling)!! Can you believe this? Does this happen at any sporting events your kids play in? Do you agree with the coaches/parents arguing with the refs when the "calling" is so badly one sided? I feel that ultimatley my priority is Jack, and I have to let my competetive side go and teach him that just because things don't go your way you can't throw a fit...life is not fair (as my mom always said...the Fair comes in October...build a bridge and get over it)... I would love to hear about this problem and what you guys do about it.

I have so many favorite shows through out my life. When I was younger it was The Brady Bunch, I have seen EVERY episode, one of my favorite episode was "pork chops and applesause"...anybody remember that one? Middle School was probably The Love Boat and Fantasy Island although sometimes that one was scary. I also remember watching Dallas...I had a shirt that said, I Shot J.R. When I was in jr/high school I got into the night time soap operas. Dynasty, the Colbys, and Knots Landing. I can't believe my mom let me watch all that. I also started watching/taping Days of Our Lives in high school and I still watch it to this day!! I DVR it everyday and watch it while I fold clothes.
I don't remember many movies. I know Annie was my favorite when I was younger.
I love hearing what everybody watched.

19/09/08 05:10 PM #820

Hannah Hancock (Maier)

Beth~ WOW! All I can say it that someone needs to talk to the coaches and explain that THEY are there to TEACH this kids how to play ball and that this is a learning experience and that you DID NOT sign your son up to be taught how to play with "poor sportsmanship! If these Coaches want these kids to respect them then they need to act like normal adults, even if the ref. makes a bad call on a play, you just move on with the game and hope the ref. doesn't make another one. No-one is perfect and we all make mistakes , but life is too short to act like this in front of 5-7 year olds. So... Just go to your coach and ask him to PLEASE control his mouth and teach these kids the rules of the game and hope for a VICTORY!! You can't win them all like we all want to. Hope this makes since!

Scott~ How's your mom doing today? I talked with Kirk this morning at the pep rally and I asked him if he knew and he said that he went in her room and said Hey Mrs.Debbie and she said hey Kirk! He said he was like WOW! He said they talked for alittle bit.

Cathy & Tricia~ Thanks for bringing the dog back to the house!! LOL

David~ How's it going?

Jil~ We had so much fun this morning. I'm sooooooo TIRED!!! I've only had 2 hours of sleep. I just hope I don't fall asleep during the game tonight!

Got to get ready for tonight

It is good to catch up again on everyone. I haven't been on here in a couple of weeks. I have been doing some traveling for work. I went to Omaha, Nashville, and then Dallas as Ike was coming up and the traffic was horrible.

Anyway, there seems to have been a lot going on here. It's awesome to read all of the responses and the encouragement that we all give each other and how open we all are about talking about God. Having a relationship with and trusting in Him is life-changing. Way to go class of '89.

Robnett - very exciting to hear about your Mom. I had no idea, but I am so glad to read about what is going on there.

Everyone - I can't tell you how cool it is to just read all of these messages. I haven't seen all of you guys in many years and its awesome to see how close we have all stayed even after all this time.

Now, on to my favorite TV show and movie. I can't really remember back then, but for now the TV show is definetily The Office. For anyone who has worked in an office can relate. Movie is tougher. But I am thinking back then would be Top Gun. Now is probably Star Wars. My girls and I watch those together every now and then.

Tricia Orlicek (Brown)

Scott- What a miracle. I am so glad you got to talk to your mom and your kids did as well. I know that made your whole year!

Fred- Congratulations on the beautiful baby girl! How much did she weigh?

Fred~ CONGRATS!! I Know you and your wife are very PROUD parents!

NEW QUESTION: What was your favorite cartoon growing up?

Mine was Tom & Jerry.

Scott R. ~ How's your mom doing? Is she still talking? She has been on my mind daily.

Classmates ~ Where are you? If you read this daily, but don't put anything on here please just type HI to everyone! Get connected like AT&T says! LOL:)

I saw Rhonda Bailey in Wal-Mart and told her to please create her profile. She still looks great. She said she would so if anyone else in town sees her tell her to get on as well.

Lets see if we can find everyone by December 1st!!

Boy, it is great to read all of these posts. I have definitely been missing out. Starting my new job has kept me very busy. Running a school is busy work.

Scott~what wonderful news about your mother. I am so happy for you and your family, just thinking about how much I have relyed on my own mother's voice this last month makes me realize how lucky I am

hannah~I loved watching Dallas, Knots Landing and Growing Pains, those seem like funny shows now

I am glad to hear that everyone is doing well. It is nice to get connected again!

Hannah, i'm doing good, thanks for asking. I am at Ft. Polk, Louisiana. It brings back memories because this was my first duty station way back in 89. My wife and boys came this weekend and brought me my truck and we got to spend the weekend together. I was very happy to see them. Sometimes when I was in Iraq I would think I was never going to make it until I could get home and see them again. I am glad I did. It was hard telling them bye today but it makes it easier knowing i'm just a state instead of a world and a war apart. I am doing a little better. They have me down here for treatment and hopefully I won't be here more than a month or two. Here in a week or so they are going to send me to San Antonio where they have Army Doctors that specialize in internal medicine. Then I will come back here. I am ready to come home to my family and back to my real job but it looks like they will keep me until they fix me or there is nothing else they can do for me. Anyhow, I went today and saw the memorial that is here for my buddies that got killed in Panama. They moved it from behind the chapel to a park here on post. I had been wanting to see it since I left here in 91. I have never forgotten those guys. Hope everyone is doing o.k. and having a good weekend. Hope to see some of you guys soon. Robnett, I hope your mother is still doing better.
