Steven Alan Saklad

College: BA from Brandeis University, MFA from Yale School of Drama. Headed to NYC in 1981 with a portfolio full of my set and costume designs. Spent 10 years assisting the top Broadway set designers on great shows of the 1980's while designing regional and off-off-Broadway sets of my own. Soon enough, my drafting on Broadway shows turned into drafting on movies being made in NYC. By 1989 I was an Art Director on my first film, which lead to 15 years as an art director on bigger and bigger movies and a permanent move to LA. At last in 2004 I designed my first film as the Production Designer (head of the hierarchy). Since then, I've amassed 20-some design credits on Films and TV shows. In 2024, I at last joined the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
