Pamela Garner (Elliot)

Thanks Karen for coordinating this event. We all really appreciate your hard work. I'm really excited about seeing everyone again. I've been remembering some of the good times we all had in band: Bus trips (well, that could be good and bad), performances, lunch in Dinkins' office (wait, did I eat lunch in high school?), and of course, band camp. I can't wait to see how everyone has changed. See you soon!

Pam, I think we did eat. Rodney's mom packed peanut butter crackers for us everyday. We shared the pack and we each ate 2 and had diet cokes. We should market that diet plan and name it after Rodney's mom.

I also have some really great memories. The DC trip stands out and I do remember that talent show. I distinctly remember someone telling me to be "sexy" but I don't think I ever quite got it. :) I found some photos of a senior spring break trip some of you took with Anthony, that I of course was not allowed to attend. Ahh the trips down underage drinking (and etc...)lane.

I hope we will be able to make it to the reunion. Our flight to Naples leaves Sept. 2nd, but we are going to be busy saying goodbye to family all day. Hopefully we can squeeze it in. I would really love to see everyone!

Karen,

I second what Pam said. Thanks again for getting this all together. Anyway, I will be purchasing tickets for me and my wife this week. You can count on us because we finally got a babysitter lined up. See you next week.

OK...aside from smaller hair (thank God...I think I might have single handedly destroyed the ozone layer), I think I might actually look kind of the same. I'll bring pictures of my daughter (mini me) to remember what I looked like 20 years ago.
Karen...thanks for organizing all this. Can't wait to see y'all on Sunday. Open bar, right????? :-)

It wasn't you single handedly, Kelley. There was some help in the form of my sister and Shay... :) Love you guys!!! See you on Sunday!!!

Go figure - I probably won't have a drink on Sunday night, and I found the bartender. Good to have good contacts and friends who can help me out when we're in a bind. (tip the bartender, please)

I pretty much look the same as I did in high school, except I've filled out horizontally a little bit and I've got some salt and pepper in the hair. Just like back in high school, I'll stick out in a crowd, so you'll still be able to find me easily, even if you don't recognize me right away.

Speaking of the hairspray.....do people still use the stuff?!?

I'm a recovering hairspray user myself. As most of you would remember, I am short, but most didn't realize quite how short until the 6 inch(or taller at times)wave went away. Thank goodness I woke up and stopped poisoning myself with fumes and stopped killing the ozone.

Can't wait to see all of you guys!

OK...so I know it's a little late for this question, but where exactly IS the ballroom? Is it actually IN the mall, or nearby? Might help when finding the right place:-)
Can't wait to see you guys tomorrow!!!

For those who need to know where the conference center is, the following site has a good map and directions: http://www.mallofgeorgiacc.com/location/

Hard to believe that this area used to be a two lane state highway with trees, woods, and open fields that were untouched by the sprawl of Atlanta.

good - to see so many people i have not seen in years. thank you to all who helped make it possible.

bad - only four from class of 1989. allen, mitchell and christine, it was great to see you guys again.

ugly - alcohol and other unknown substances bring out the crazies in some of our classmates. hope they made it home safely. maybe have a cab on standby next reunion. ha ha

seriously, we had a great time networking and catching up with all of you. everyone looked great. can't wait to see what we all look like in ten years.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYONE WHO WORKED SO HARD FOR THIS TO BE POSSIBLE AND THANK YOU TO MR. DINKINS FOR BEING THERE TO SHARE IT WITH US!!

Melanie Haney (Rebarchik)

The NGHS Band and it's members were such a huge part of my high school life at North. When I went to my regular high school reunion, it sucked because all of my friends were in the band and either older or younger than me. I must say that the Band reunion was everything a class reunion should be. I got to see and catch up with most of the dearest friends I've had in my life. There is no price that could ever replace those friendships and this reunion experience. I had a blast and wish to thank Cristine, Karen and all of their family for everything they did for us. This web site as well as the reunion itself has been wonderful to me. As I told many of you, I lost all of my annuals and pictures from high school when I was in the US Navy stationed in New Orleans for Hurricane andrew. I can't count how many times I had to choke back tears of joy at seeing my dear high school friends again. Thank you for the memories.......

Bryan...sorry if I was one of those that allowed myself to be overserved...those open bars get me EVERY time...you'd think I would learn! Fortunately, there were no ill effects the following morning, but Kelly Martin did call me chuckling this afternoon.
Back to reality...I spent this afternoon at Children's with my daughter, Victoria. We went there thinking she had strep, and left with a prescription for a kidney infection. Go figure...the body is a strange thing!
Again, thanks to everybody for coming out. I second what Melanie said...band was such a huge part of my high school career. The friendships I made there have been what shaped my life...it's great when you have friends who aren't afraid to tell you the truth about yourself.
I'm so glad this website is going to stay up in order to keep in contact!

Sounds like everyone had a great time at the reunion. I wished I could've been there! I heard about it too late and couldn't change plans, but I hope to stay in touch with as many of you as willing.
