Don and I had a wonderful time at the reunion. I was glad to see so many people that I hadn't seen since graduation. It was a great time. Thanks to all for all their hard work.

The 30th Reunion was GREAT...thanks Melva for pulling us all back together, you did a superior job leading the committee.

It was wonderful spending quality time with the committee members, and I would have liked to have had more time talking with the rest of the class on reunion night. There was just so much going on, especially the dancing. I too was sore for 3 days from doing the snowball sequence, twist.

If I can figure out how to pull an MP3 from my video, I'll get Melva to somehow post it. Yes, I too thought Eddie was going to stroke out.

My husband, Mark, was very impressed by our reunion, noting how fun it was, how very nice everyone was, giving us very high marks. So I think that says a lot if spouses and others who tagged along with us can enjoy us goofy kids who are nearing 50!

It was wonderful too to have classmates from down to the 6th grade, several attending, because you were so much a part of our lives. I learned that my first boyfriend Ricky Ryan was also a boyfriend of several others during that same time period, about the 6th grade! I learned that Gail Gibbs came home with me and I don't remember it.

Robert, I didn't realize you weren't with our class the entire 12 years. I really thought so. The only complaint I heard about the entire night, a backhanded compliment: Robert Graves sat over there in the corner with Brent Smith, and he was making all these funny remarks, but none of us could hear them except for Brent. Robert, you probably could have made $150 by shifting around to the various tables!!

Hope everyone will come to the 35th. It really was a wonderful evening,

Anita

Anita, thanks for the heads up, I didn't realize the reunion could have been so lucrative!

I thought the reunion went off real well. I had a great time just catching up with everybody. I didn't get to attend the 20 year so it was great just getting see everyone. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I have to agree with Anita. Spending quality time at our committee meetings were better than the reunion. We held 4 meetings reminiscing and looking through old school news papers, the yearbooks, and pictures. Everyone keeps telling me what a great job I did but I am here to tell you "WE" The Class of 78, had a GREAT Committee consisting of Anita Travis, Valynda Campbell, Marsha Coulter, Sandy Spurr, Rita Goodwin, Roger Monroe, Eddie Whitehouse and Bobby Shouse and myself. It took all of us to put the 30th reunion together.

If you really want to be a part of the 35th reunion committee, please let me know now. I promise you will enjoy it and have fun organizing it, it will bring back wonderful memories. I would like to have some suggestions on what kind of reunion you would like to have, example.. like the one at Claudia Sanders with or without a D.J., or maybe sitting around a bon-fire roasting hot dogs, telling school stories.

Robert Graves, I didn't realize you were only there 4 1/2 years. I thought you were there all 12 years.

Pictures, I promise I will be putting pictures on the website soon. I had to take a break and devote some time to my husband after the reunion. I neglected him there for about a month working on this website and the reunion.

Please everyone, keep this message forum going.
so keep talking oh keep talking.....

Hey Melva,
I want to say, Thanks to all that helped out, you all done a wonderful job. It always takes team work for something to turn out as well as the reunion did. It was wonderful getting back in touch with you and seeing faces I hadn't seen in so many years. I had wondered what had happened to so many and seen several at the reunion. Some I passed on the street and didn't even know. Looking forward to the next reunion. Also, I really enjoy this site, I wish everybody would update their profiles and put in pictures. Its a great way to keep in touch and see what is going on in each others lives.

Robert Graves

OK,OK,,I see that some of you are on to me. Yes, I was there the entire 12 years (almost). You probably remember me as "Roberta", I was the little girl with a mustache in the 4th grade. I was happy with my identity until the 7th grade when Brent started making eyes at me. I felt uncomfortable and knew I had to do something! So, off to Sweden for an "operation" and, voila, I was back for almost the entire 8th grade year!

Starla doesn't know about this time in my life and I try hard to keep it from her. It's hard to remember to leave the toilet seat up, and sometimes I just can't bring myself to leave whiskers in the sink. I'm real good at pretending to be lost whenever we go somewhere we haven't been, and I make her tell me at least 5 times to stop and get directions. I think this gets me by for a month at a time.

Speaking of the old times, Melva, do you remember that time in the 3rd grade that we stuffed our bras with toilet paper and pretended to be movie stars? You were Dolly Parton and I was Burt Reynolds. Ha Ha,,good times!

I always wondered what Brent did to Roberta to make her leave, now we know

Robert Graves

Well played Robert Helton, well played indeed! I now understand what you meant in your moving memoir to Knute Rockne, "be who you are, no matter if your name can be mispronounced". Remember that night on Bardstown Road that someone ran right in front of your white Chevrolet?

Robert Helton

That was a very fun and interesting night,I almost forgot about it.That does bring back some pleasant memories but very few people know that story. Robert,it is very good to talk to you again even if it's only on the computer.

Same here! I heard talk of a dinner sometime with you and some others, I would like to attend if it's on a weekend.

11/13/08 11:29 PM #79

Melva Hume (Hill)

I would love to make some plans if Robert Helton would respond to my email. And Robert Graves, I really didn't get to catch up with you at the reunion and would love for you to join us. The details will be confirmed as soon as Robert Helton responds!!!!! We are willing to work around his busy schedule.

Gail Gibbs (Cheatham)

Hey Sherry,
It takes a while for the slideshow to start on mine. Melva said its a sample. I don't think she has actually put any pictures on there yet.( Or maybe she has and I can't see it either) I see a slideshow of the school and a we were the bears and maybe a bear, (Short memory)but a few different things came up, but it takes a few minutes.
See ya
Gail

Ricky Ryan

Hey Gail, I got the same thing that you did. I just figured Melva put those on as a sample and then will put the pictures when she knows that it works.

Anne Hellmueller (Hamman)

I just wrote Melva and told her that at first I couldn't get the slide show to work on my computer. I finally got to see all the pictures when my husband opened up the photobucket.com link that came up at the end of the slide show.

It sure looked like a lot of fun. My younger kids looked at the pictures with us. It was fun to share with them some of my memories and one of them seemed amazed that I knew people before she born!

Thank you so much to those who shared their pictures!

I may not get to post much, but I do check the forum now and again.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
