Happy New Year!
Here is an update on the past month.
We are usually on the go for the most part of the year. Last year was no exception. From this past Thanksgiving to Christmas, I felt like I was on a super sonic jet speeding to the end of the year. My 3 youngest children had roles on of our neighboring community's presentation of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". This year, they didn't have a someone to do the fiddling role, so I said "Yes". (I need to learn to say "No" also!). Uncle Sam sent my husband on a trip to Alabama on one of the week that the children had 5 concerts(4 in one day-a community tour), a recital, and two shows plus a couple other parties! I am so thankful my older daughters live close by since one of them helped to get everyone where they needed. This was just the beginning of December!

Becca (child #4,daughter#3) had two more concerts with her string quartet. The rehearsal schedule kept us busy. With all that and more, it was hectic, but fun. The week hubby was gone was difficult but we lived through it.

My sister Lynette came to visit us from Oklahoma. Her husband teaches for the FAA at the Air Traffic Controllers Academy. She is now a die hard Okie who had the audacity to parade her Sooner garb in Longhorn territory after they beat us!

The kids have a class with other homeschoolers this afternoon. The group to which we belong has a cooperative education class that parents come together to teach or help teach. We have about 100 children in the Friday group. Our support group has about 400 children altogether.

May God abundantly bless you all in 2009!

Hey everybody,

I hope everyone is starting a wonderous New Year. Our Christmas was wonderful. My only granddaughter will be 2 in March, she had a wonderful Christmas, it was so much fun watching her, and Travis my oldest son had more fun than her, just watching her. Travis's wife decided she wanted a divorce in September, so I was concerned about him at Christmas, but he's done fine. You all keep him in your prayers.

Jarrad started college last week, Campbellsville Univ., that has been a big ajustment. He continues to come home on the weekends, so we can run all weekend playing music.
That boy is keeping me young. Don't forget he plays every Saturday at the Lincoln Jamboree in Hodgenville. You guys should come and see him. It's a Great show, this past week, entertainers there were Charlie Pride, George Jones, Dolly Parton and others. Elvis was there a couple of weeks ago.

Take care all and God Bless
Keep in touch

Gail

Hello to everyone!!!
It's been a while so I thought I better touch base with everyone. If anyone knows of any job openings I could use any help I can get. I am getting a few real estate calls so that's good. Last year I only had one closing compared to selling over 2 million dollars worth of property the year before. You are always open to surprises, thats for sure. Like today, I had an appointment to show a couple of houses to a couple. They said they would meet me at Finchville school. When they got there the lady got out and came to my door and I told them they could follow or get in and ride with me. I told her she looked really familiar and she sais the same. She asked me if I was in Tenn. much cause that was where she was from and I told her no. I just kept looking at her and she said ,"Well, is it good or bad?" I said I wasn't sure but she reminded of some one when I worked at the womens prison in PeeWee Valley. She said that was where it was from because she had been an inmate there. It all went OK and I'm going to show them some more houses this week-end. You just never know when your paths will cross. My daddy always said to treat people the way you would want to be treated and I try to live by this rule. It really is true.
Well, that's my funny story.
We had a great Christmas and are hoping for a great new year.I have 3 wonderful grandsons and they make the holidays so much fun.
Gotta run. Let's get some more messages going.

RE: A SENIOR TRIP

I've been thinking........I was one that didn't get to go on the Senior Trip so....I think we should plan another "Senior" Trip in the year 2010. We will be "50", yes "50" and almost considered a "Senior Citizen" so.... let's go on a Senior Trip!

It could be a long weekend to Gatlinburg, they have 7 bedroom log cabins we could rent, or maybe a weekend in Las Vegas, a cruise or even back to Daytona Beach in Florida. The only thing about a beach, I'm not sure I want anyone to see me in a swim suit these days, do you?

I need to hear some feed back from YOU.....What's your thoughts?

Hey Robert Helton and Rita Goodwin, I tried to email you and it was bounced back. Have you changed your email address? If you do, you need to go back into your profile and edit your address.

I think the idea of a "Senior Trip" is great. I'm always up for traveling. Any of those ideas sound great to me. Count me in.

I was just going to make a comment about our 3 new classmates that just joined our website. I did run into Bonnie Hays at Wal Mart and she has not changed one bit. It was really nice seeing her again and I know it had been at least 30 years since I had seen her.

Jeanne Amis has also joined our website. I remember her from the 7th grade but a couple of other classmates said they also remember her either in 2nd or 3rd grade. As she stated she attended a couple different times.

Also Charlotte Nation has joined our website. I remember her the most in 6th and 7th grade. I am pretty sure we had Mrs. Holt together. Charlotte stills lives in Taylorsville and has been married for 27 years. Being married for 27 years is a GREAT accomplishment!

I want to welcome all 3 of them and hope the rest of you will also.

YEARBOOKS
I have had a couple of people ask me how they could get one of our yearbooks that was published in the Seventies. If anyone knows how I could get my hands on a yearbook for the years 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, and 78, let me know.

Hey Gail, Eddie Whitehouse said that he and Kathy are wanting to go but will not know for sure until Friday. Is there anyway you could reserve 2 more seats so we can all be together? What happens if they can't make it and we have reserved the seats?

03/18/09 10:17 AM #130

Gail Gibbs (Cheatham)

Its best to reserve the seats, I will reserve 2 more. If they can't show thats ok, If tickets arn't picked up by 7 they just resale them. So if any body else wants to go we need to go ahead and reserve. They just go to the pickup window, request how many they want and pay at that time. For example: Eddie goes to the window, says I need 2 tickets for Taylorsville High School class of 78 and pays for those 2. I think its great several are going, I know you will enjoy.

Gail Gibbs (Cheatham)

Hey Melva,

Can you post a note on the Home page that it's better to go ahead and reserve. That way we can sit close together. Also, make sure everybody knows to give Megan Stout a huge response, thats part of what the Judges listen for. Last week was a Great show. It was contestants under the age of 19. This week is 19 and over. There was some really Good ones last week. Finals between them all will be next week.

Hey Marsha, Tell Megan to knock them out. I am so proud of her, she does such a wonderful job. I wish her the best.

Rita and Richard,

Jarrad is so glad you all are coming to the Jamboree tomorrow. He said hopefully when he is on summer break that you all can get together some and jam. I am looking forward to seeing you all again too. I wish more from our class would come. I really enjoyed seeing everybody at the reunion. Maybe we can all get together soon.

Melva Hume (Hill)

I think Rita Goodwin and her girls and Sandy and Denny are coming tonight also. I think it will be best if we all come on our own instead of trying to meet and go together. We will just meet there. John and I are planning on getting there around 6:00 (if we don't get lost) and we are going to eat there. Everyone are welcome to join us. See you there.

Last night was my first time ever going to the Lincoln Jamboree and I have to say it was very entertaining. Gail's son, Jarrad, not only plays the banjo out of this world but he is a very good singer.

Megan did an excellent job and placed in the top 5 of the talent contest and she will be competing again next week. Good Luch Megan!

It was really good seeing everyone and wished we had more time to talk. Rita Sweazy, don't forget to delete that picture of me on the horse!

If you haven't been to the Lincoln Jamboree I suggest everyone should go. Good food, good people, and good entertainment.

Grandchildren are wonderful. Sometimes you need them to help you deal with the rest of the world.
My sister, Sharon Smitha, had breast cancer 4 yrs ago and we just found out that it is back. It is in her lungs, liver and bones. She will undergo a brain scan on Friday to see if it is there also. She will start treatments next week. The doctor said it is small & very treatable so we have to pray that it is so. I ask everyone and everyone that each one of you know to please keep her in your prayers. I believe in the power of prayer and the greatness of prayer in numbers! At only 52 she has so much living to do. She has 3 grown children and 10 grandchildren.
Sharon went to the Lincoln Jamboree on Saturday night and we had a great time.
